    Staff friendly enough but claimed they couldn't change my service tried to talk me into changing cell phone service to add more to bill although it would change cell phone service from straight talk and gave me a phone number,called number service changed in fifteen minutes, they also did sales pitch on phone service

    First of all, the customer service has been adequate for the most part. The people that have fielded my calls have been pleasant to work with. That is the only reason this is 2 stars instead of 1. I am more disappointed with the sketchy business practices offered. I was given a free 3-month promo for cable and internet. At the end of the 3 month period, I went into the store to return my cable box and cancel the cable. They added a $5 charge to my bill for this "change of service." They issued a billing statement to my account for an internet service period of 1/19-2/18. I cancelled the internet on 1/29. Service to my residence was also cancelled at this time which was 10 days into the billing period that was already billed to me. I noticed that the billing statement on the app did not change. I called to get the bill changed to only charge me for the 10 days of service that I had to my address. Other reputable internet providers will prorate this charge and only charge you for the days of service that you actually received from them. Spectrum did not. They stated that they are a "subscription" based service and do not prorate their charges. They compared themselves to Netflix or ABC Mouse. It is true that these services charge you for the full billing period of which you have already been billed for, but they still allow you to use their services for the remainder of that period. Spectrum cut service the day that I cancelled but still billed me for 20 more days of which I was not able to use their service. Obviously, the dollar amount is not huge, but the business practice is shady. They fall into the classic category of "hidden fees and surprises."
