image I can highly recommend Kris Whitehead and New England Custom Remodeling! Kris personally spent hours investigating the issues, informing us of the options, doing his own research an alternative materials we suggested. His contractors had to work through some bad weather and personal issues, but it was handled super professionally! I am not easy to trust contractors, but I would trust Kris with any construction job in the future! He also seems just like an all-around smart, intelligent guy, who is in this work as a passion of his. Thank you!

image Sadly my experience with NECR was very unprofessional. The two workers came unprepared on the first day. I provided trash bags and rags. They used my only functional sink to clean their tools but did not clean up the mess afterwards and used up my paper towels. They sanded sheet rock but did not close the doors so my whole house is covered in sheet rock dust. They left all their supplies an equipment in the hallway making it difficult to get to my bedroom. I addressed my concerns with Kris Whitehead and he apologized and spoke to the workers. This job was supposed to be a three day job and because the guys were also going to other jobs, my job was further delayed. When I came home on day four, I was shocked to see I still had no toilet or sink in the main bath. The tile floor was missing grout and the baseboard was not removed leaving gaps exposed. They painted without finishing sanding. In the master bath they did the same and did not put my light back up over sink or properly install my faucet or vanity. I feel the crew he sent to my job were not finish carpenters resulting in a poor outcome. I sent the pictures to Kris Whitehead expressing being dissatisfied and his response, "are you looking for resolution or are you asking us to stop work? Either is fine." After paying half up front and seeing the work that was done, I chose to fire NECR. Everything he said in his video did not apply on my job. Photos demonstrate the workmanship.

Lynn, I appreciate you taking time to share. I communicated with you every day, even after business hours to address your concerns. This last day, the day you "fired" us, was the day you chose to text at 9pm after speaking to our team directly and he telling you his plan to come the following day and repair each of these things in the pictures you provided. You texted demeaning comments about our worker, on a text thread he could read, even though he spoke to you directly about fixing the issues. It was the 3rd day in a row of you speaking harshly, and I was okay with it until you were derogatory to one of our team members. We also took your job on with 1 weeks notice because you were so upset about price gouging and other contractors not willing to return your calls. We changed HOW we do work to try and accommodate you, adding more time and cost. We started on a Saturday and even worked on Sunday to be a benefit to you.I agree, the team made a few mistakes, including the using your sink, towels, and not cleaning their dust. Like I said, there is no excuse for that, and we addressed it immediately.Sadly, for everyone involved, your project is 90% complete and only 50% paid for, but you yelling by texting well after business hours and speaking rudely to one of our workers forced me to take a stand.I do not allow anyone to treat anyone in such a manner, and that's why I simply asked if you wanted to solve this or fire us. Your language seemed to suggest the later, and your following text confirmed just that.We are certainly not perfect, and still we've been doing this for 25 years. It's because we OWN our mistakes and do everything we can to please our clients.I am truly sorry this is your experience and we would love to finish your work and change your mind about how your FINAL product looks.

image I had damage appear in my living room ceiling due to a leak from our master bath shower. I contacted NECR to see if they could fix. They came out, ripped a 1'x 4' hole in my ceiling and supposedly repaired the leak. I was charged $200 and the next day it continued to leak. We already had plans to redo the master bath so I asked them to quote on the job. After several visits deciding what we wanted the quote comes back at $27K. A week later I'm contacted that the estimator that came has been fired and they will need to send a new estimator. Because of what I have been through and the fact I still have an active leak in my ceiling they will get someone out that Monday. This person calls me on Monday and says sorry but he was double booked so we reschedule to Wednesday. Wednesday comes and goes, no show. I have to call them and he says sorry he forgot because he didn't write it down...what? He comes that Friday and I find out he's a roofer who's been estimating remodeling jobs for NECR for 1 month...great. His quote comes back at $40K, no changes made from previous estimator. What kind of scam is this. Not sure who wrote the previous reviews, guessing the owners, because clearly NECR has some seriously incompetent employees. And I still have a leak and hole in my ceiling. You would think at minimum they would reimburse my $200...nope.

Business Response on Google May 15th, 2021
Hi Scott,Thank you for taking time to share your experience.I have been in business for close to 24 years and I can assure you we do NOT run a scam. The person who came to originally give you an estimate was NOT an employee of NECR, he was a subcontractor who we trusted at the time to speak to clients and handle overflow when we are at the busiest time of the year.Like you, we began to receive feedback that he wasn't treating people with integrity and we immediately parted ways with him.Upon investigation, we did send an employee to see you and found that you'd paid the subcontractor directly to fix a leak in the ceiling and that he'd given you a price to work on your bathroom that was 1/2 the cost of what you were asking to be done.My employee came back to the office and told me the situation and I empowered him to help you in any way feasible, because we had refereed the original person to you. We would have been more than happy to work within your budget, we just could not offer you everything you wanted for the price someone else had quoted you because we are a REAL company with REAL overhead, A REAL warranty, and (obviously since you can air your feelings online about us and not him) REAL marketing.I can understand your frustration, heck, even anger...yet it's hard for me to understand how NECR is responsible for work you paid someone else to do. We have learned as a company from this experience that even though we try to do the right thing for the community by referring, it is not worth this kind of potential backfire and being held emotionally and financially responsible for someone else's lack of integrity. We are not in the business of scamming anyone, nor leaving people with such a feeling of being taken advantage of, and I am sorry you have had such a horrible experience. You are more than welcome to reach out to me, Kris, the owner directly, and I will help in any way I can. My direct line is 603-831-6166, I look forward to your call.
