Hello Cindy , we are very sorry for the dissatisfaction you're expressing. Our staff simply requested you to have the new agent, or you send the cancelation request in writing as a verbal call is not permissible. NY State DFS acknowledges that something in writing signed by the named insured is received in order to cancel a in force insurance policy that is basically a contract to cover your home. Since you have chosen to air your dirty laundry in public, this was a builder's risk home policy you purchased because your current agent did not have that product for you while the home was being constructed. Now that it is finished, you chose to get the home policy that is available at the other agent's office!No liens and having the option to either purchase or not purchase a policy has zero to do with the fact that you did purchase a policy contract. This is really simple, have the new agent send the signed cancelation instead of making a terrible review on something that is totally out of our control. NY State is heavily regulated, neither our agency nor you can change that over a public outcry in a false accusation. The policy is still in force until either the cancelation is received and documented in our agency within 30 days of the requested cancelation date, or you will need to deal directly with the insurance company you are looking to cancel because we are only authorized to accept a written documented cancelation within 30 days, not our rule. Letting insurance " just run out " will create an earned premium issue as coverages are in force until cancelled which means a collection notice for a non-payment cancelation gets issued by the company you purchased a homeowner's policy contract with!Thank you for the last years business,Management

This is so powerful to our staff and just in general when a client recognizes that true meaning of " we really do care " that Mesi Agency pledges on a day-to-day basis .
