SpringHill Suites by Marriott Durham City View

Very clean with friendly and helpful staff. Was in town for a concert at DPAC and this was an easy walk to there or to the baseball stadium.

God help you if you need an itemized receipt for an expense report. I called the location 5 times after checkout asking for an itemized receipt, and was sent the base rate charges for the room each time, without taxes or fees. One front desk employee even argued that they had already sent me what I needed, even after I tediously explained each time what I was looking for. The only helpful front desk employee, Mia, told me to call Marriott global customer service. The global customer service employee questioned why I would even want an itemized folio, and told me I'd have to call this location's finance department. This situation is now 6 phone calls in, and several hours of my time involved, with no end in sight. I've never been to a hotel that was not only unable to provide an itemized receipt, but seems completely foreign to the concept. Business travelers beware.

This is the best Springhill suites I have ever stayed at. The property is BEAUTIFUL and the staff was AMAZING! I had the pleasure of checking in with the nigh auditor, Tyrus. He was such an amazing soul and had a wonderful attitude to be working at 1am. I couldn't sleep and went down for a late snack and we just talked for at least a hour. The morning front desk associate, Brittany, is so lovely and sweet. 10/10 . Rooms were clean and amazing! Breakfast was delicious. If you have to travel to the area, I definitely suggest staying here!! I WILL be back.
