A CT scan was ordered for my 72-year-old husband yesterday morning. The tech who came to his room to escort him to the CT machine was, according to my husband, impolite and disrespectful. He consequently refused to go for the CT scan, and left the hospital AMA. Later, he revealed to me that he thought they were going to give him an injection. I would like to hear the CT tech's version of what happened, and suggest that when dealing with demented, disoriented, tired old people, they might do well to gently reassure them that a CT scan does not require an injection, and that it's simply a photograph of the inside of your body.
