If you need a mechanic you can trust, Joe is your guy. I drove all the way from Raleigh to see him because I simply don't want anyone else to even look at my car. He diagnosed my car and could've easily done the repairs I was considering, but he was straight up with me and advised I should look into a new vehicle since I had extremely high mileage. Anyone who chooses honesty over a quick buck will have my business and recommendations for life. Thanks Joe and Terri! Service: General repairs & maintenance

Great experience!! I work long shifts during the day and I don't have the time to get a car fixed. And I couldn't stand the knocking sound under my car. It was distracting and annoying plus I didn't know if it was something going to fall off or go wrong. Enter Dennis Garrity + Joe and Terri Carbon of the Good ol Fashion Auto Repair team!! They picked up my car, fixed the noise and some bumper issue that was going on, and dropped the car back off. Process took a week but Joe was up front on lead times and communicated throughout the week. The car drives quiet as a mouse! Convenient and the price was very fair. I felt confident it was not overpriced. Joe explained everything and dumbed it down for me quite a bit which helped!! I know next to nothing about cars We will use their device for our regular maintenance in the future for both my car and my wife's car! Services: Exhaust, General repairs & maintenance

The last things you want to happen to you is that when you get in your car is that it won't start. To make matters worse I had just loaded the trunk with newly purchased groceries. And even worse this happened on a Sunday afternoon to where I would have to abandon my car in a shopping center parking lot. To complicate matters more, I had recently moved to Cornelius from Maryland and had no idea who to trust with my 2013 BMW. After making a several calls, I was referred to Joe Carbons Good Old-Fashioned Auto Repair (GOFAR), a family run business that Justin, a work associate had been using for over 10 years. Im so thankful for his recommendation. From that point going forward Joe, his wife Terri and his team did everything for me including towing, diagnostics, research and much more including meeting me at my doctors office the next morning to retrieve my keys. Joe assured me that I was in good hands and that his technician was very experienced with foreign modeled cars. Joe kept me informed while the analytics were being performed and prepped me for possible bad news. As it turned out the codes given though the diagnostics confirmed my suspicions that this was serious. In fact, it was very serious. Something you would want to hear. The timing chain had broken which meant that the entire engine was shot. This is where my guardian angel steps in to help. Talk about taking lemons and making lemonade. Joes mechanic made several calls and did some further research and found that BMW North America had issued a TSB (Technical Service Bulletin) on my particular make and model that the timing belt had been a known issue and an extended warranty had been issued. In my case it meant that BMW would cover the cost for repairs. In conclusion, BMW replaced the entire engine at absolutely no cost to me and reimbursed me for my out of pocket expenses for towing. Because of the extra effort that the GOFAR team made, which in my opinion went far above what would be otherwise expected I would have had to sell my car for scrap and parts. For this I am eternally grateful and happily submit this testimonial. Furthermore, if and when I need maintenance there is only one person I will call or consider and I expect you will have the same results.
