My husband and I have been very fortunate to build every house we have owned. Not every experience has been good, but working with Tom at Bluefield Builders was literally the best experience we have ever had. Always professional, always on time for our meetings. And our house is incredibly beautiful and made so well. We even had to get confirmation on a few items post build and were very pleased with Tom’s response. Everyone at Bluefield; Sara, Gene, Andrew and the design team were so fantastic to work with. We literally love them. Fair, responsive, kind and dedicated to our project, answered every question, superior customer service - these are just a few reasons why we would build with them over and over again. Our experience with Bluefield Builders was excellent! Sarah and Tom are terrific people who made the entire experience special. The quality of their work and integrity of the entire team was exceptional and greatly appreciated. The process ran smoothly from design through construction where they made every effort to ensure our home was exactly what we wanted. Communication was very good and they made every effort to keep us abreast of everything that was taking place … We were relocating to the area and not always available. As first time custom homebuilders, we were very pleased at the level of prompt communication from Bluefield owners Tom and Sara Arndt, to our project manager and everyone involved in the building process. 4 years later, we’re still receiving compliments on the quality and design of our home. We couldn’t be happier with our selection of builder.

Wow, I can't say enough great things about Tom and Sara and working with Bluefield. They built a home for us on Lake Norman and it couldn't have been a better experience. My wife and I were on vacation in North Carolina and stopped in at their model home and fell in love with it. It cost way less then we would have thought, and a few months later we were the proud owners of a lot and had a construction contract signed with Bluefield. From design, to the constant changes we made to absolute top quality construction, they've been amazing. I was talking to one of the subcontractors who was helping us out with some low voltage stuff, and I mentioned to him how great it's been to work with Tom and Sara. He made the great point that they treat people so well and fairly that they have been working with the same subcontractors over and over for framing, electrical, plumbing, dry wall, etc. So those subs all know how to work together, and in the end you end up with a much better built home than most other builders would be able to create. And that's really true of how Tom and Sara operate, they're fair and honest and work very hard. These guys rock. When we make plans to build our next home, they'll be our first call!

There are plenty of much more qualified, honest and capable builders in the Charlotte area that will build you a quality home in less than two years. Don't get me wrong, there are always challenges, but BLUEFIELD BUILDERS is not in a good place right now to be a fully custom, luxury home builder right now. Tom has likely lost his edge, process, people, or just gave up as his attention is elsewhere. We had no Covid delays less appliances, but that could have been managed with some forward thinking, that you will not find at Bluefield builders - they are like the old mom and pop whenever they get around to it, no technology, no engineering to speak of and I have three gapping fault lines running across my new floors because they failed to manage the floorboards and we had to have an engineer write the remediation now needed for that and all the new floor repair, so this builder has walked. He has no sub-contractors to do anything and if you are not okay with paying nearly double and at the mercy of one of his subs, you are own your own. Can you imagine spending 25 to 30 hours a week managing your own project, sourcing your own subs and having to design and get your own landscapers, concrete, closets, cabinets, lighting etc.? Trying to understand why TOM and Sara BLUEFIELD BUILDERS believe they are entitled to their full commission - it is blatant robbery. BLUEFIELD BUILDERS has been the most horrific experience of all our builds! THEY ARE AWEFUL, no process, no consideration, NON-LUXURY CUSTOM HOME BUILDERS, no fine craftsmanship and do NOT KEEP THEIR WORD! TOM AND SARA have turned what should have been a great experience into a two year nightmare and we still are not finished because they are too busy working on their own home build. They took our sub-contractors to use on their own private residence, and other clients that they started those builds well after ours and have finished some and we are still not complete. ARTESIAN CABINETRY LLC has been a 8 months disaster using them so stay clear of Dewey and that cabinetry group. They used to do good work until they met Tom and realized quality and time doesn't matter anymore, and to get more work, didn't finish our home to go and stroke Tom by doing his personal home. Kitchen and cabinets on our home still not done 8 months later and yet they want to be paid in full to give you less leverage that you already had...AWFUL people. Sara, initially seemingly nice but we asked Tom specifically not to have her manage our job (since he no longer has anyone else in tat capacity) as you can never say anything about a spouse, but if you are paying them for service, and she is the employee - you have no choice. Sara didn't provide any service because she was too busy in England with her family, designing her home, but we still had no other qualified person to work with. She makes lists occasionally but doesn't do anything with them. Imagine having to constantly pay someone to do a job that you have to do yourself just to keep the project moving forward? Any time we softly approached Tom about no support, no responses, no samples, no pricing, no anything, we got "don't say anything negative about my wife" well who is the employee we hired then? Sara is just a façade of a nice person, but can't execute on any plans, project task or care to remember anything they are supposedly to do.AR HOMES the Franchisor claims they have no responsibility for any quality claims, lack of performance or anything to do with BLUEFIELDS BUILDERS less the copyright of the name! Tom Arndt BLUEFIELD BUILDERS may have in younger days, built a decent home, but he and Sara promised way more than they could deliver, even admitted it on several occasions but then when they had most of their money (more than what was left to complete the home) they walked away and we haven't heard from them since. How infuriating to be asked for more money after being put through all the horrors we have suffered trying to work through each BLUEFIELD BUILDER error, oversight, mistake and now they think it is about money???
