Room was a good size with very comfortable beds and lots of pillows, however, it wasn't fully cleaned when we checked in and had to ask cleaning staff to return. Shower was very spacious, but limited counter space and very small vanity in the bathroom (families would have a lot of difficulty fitting their items on the vanity). Wear and tear was very obvious in the room (i.e large areas of paint missing on the bathroom door, a piece on the bathroom door stop broke off when we opened the door, and the faucet on the bathroom sink felt like it would break at any moment due to poor quality). Beds were comfortable with lots of pillows and clean bedding, and room had a larger size fridge, microwave and mid sized flat screen tv (all of which were nice features in the room). The continental breakfast was adequate but limited. Offered hot waffles, scrambled eggs and sausage, cold cereal and instant oatmeal, yogurt and very limited selection of breads, pastries, fruit and spreads (for example, there was cream cheese but no bagels, and the pastry selection was basically a few small muffins and that was it). Orange juice was water and didn't work at all (apple juice was fine). The breakfast area was kept very clean though (hotel was almost empty though, so not sure if this level of cleanliness would be maintained when busy, and if the seating space would be adequate then). The smell of chlorine from the pool was OVERWHELMING and extremely strong throughout the hotel (as soon as you walked into the lobby, the smell of chlorine hit you), especially in the lobby area, hallways and the pool area itself. We used the hot tub (which was warm but could have been a bit more hot and super foamy when it was running the jets), and despite taking two showers, the smell of chlorine remained in our skin and was difficult to wash away due to the large amount of chlorine in the hot tub and pool. Water in the hot tub also felt scumy (you could feel the scum built up along the water line when you were in it, so despite the ridiculous amount of chlorine in it, it could have been cleaned better and water changed out more frequently). The hotel definitely needs better ventilation or less chlorine to deal with that smell issue. Biggest con was the "free wifi", which was NON EXISTANT though the hotel and did NOT work at all the entire evening we were in our room (or in any other part of the hotel, despite the fact that it was almost empty and no one was staying there). This was our second stay at this property in the last year, and both times the internet did NOT work at all in our room (prior stay we switched rooms numerous times to try to get working wifi and it wouldn't work anywhere in the hotel other than right by the front desk, and that was only momentarily). Wifi would connect for a very brief moment in the evening, and then drop immediately and you'd have no wifi access at all during peak evening hours (we had a room facing Menards, and if you went out into the parking lot, you might pick up Menards free wifi, but absolutely no working wifi connection at all in the hotel in the afternoon and evening). We had to constantly keep signing in again, and wifi would connect briefly, then drop and still wouldn't work during the entire evening we were there (it finally started to connect around 4:00 a.m., which is when we were asleep and when we woke up, we saw that emails etc. started to finally come through around 4:00 a.m., so until that time, we were unable to access our emails, internet etc for most of our stay there since it never worked). FIX THE INTERNET ISSUES and get proper working internet at ALL TIMES in the hotel (not in the middle of the night or early mornings only), as guests expect to have access to working internet, as they are paying for that service and don't get it when they check in. This reason alone would deter us from staying at the property again. Walkability: Good location and close to main shopping attractions and restaurants.
