The Westin Great Southern Columbus

This place has seen better days. The rooms are terrible: very dark with few available lamps, no desk, no tray to put my suitcase.. No hot water yesterday morning (cold shower), the only breakfast option is the restaurant for the slowest sit-down service I have ever seen. The hotel staff is nice, though, you can see that deep down they're embarrassed. But the place itself has a Soviet era feel to it.

Marriott Platinum member here, and for the first time I was disappointed in a Westin property. I get that the hotel is a historical location, but the rooms seem like they were updated mid-2000s. Peeling paint and aging carpet. Also I didnt have any warm water in my room. When I told the front desk I was told several guests dont and engineering is working on it. I had to ask for points credited to my account.

Its a good stay for its location and historical value. 4 stars doesnt seem right because of the peeling paint everywhere, cheap water bottles in rooms, etc, but overall a cool older building thats seems updated probably 10 years or so ago.

Rooms are tiny, uninviting, cold, and loud. Does not even remotely remind a person of a Westin.
