We began looking for a nice place to stay after a Valentine's Day dinner at Multnomah Falls Lodge, and I found the Bridal Veil Bed & Breakfast Lodge on Google located several minutes away. It was around 9:00 p.m. when we pulled into the driveway on the side of the B&B to inquire about any available rooms. I was walking from my car to the front door of the lodge when a window above a Black Lives Matter flag on the side of the building opened. A woman that I can only assume is the host stated that I was trespassing and asked what I was doing there. I asked her if she had any rooms to rent. She ignored my question and continued talking on her phone for about a minute while staring at me. She again stated that I was trespassing and asked what I was doing there. I asked her again if there were any rooms available. She stated that they were closed and that I needed to look for a hotel in Troutdale. Both Google and Tripadvisor direct me to contact this property for rates and availability, but I get treated like a criminal when I do. It's a shame that a woman this inconsiderate and rude is in charge of such a nice spot, and I'll say so to anyone that I know.

10/9 Given the response from management, I should clarify. The bathroom fan was used for 2 hours at a time following showers, but it did not exhaust much air and did not observably drop the amount of condensation in the room. Unusual given the warm and dry weather. It's possible the fan grille was plugged, it did look fairly dirty. I opened the windows to try to get a cross draft to improve the airflow. The chain for the toilet needs to be shortened, not secured. It's "beyond me" that a response from a business would read as the one attached to this review does. 10/9 Original Review: My partner and I spent our 10 year wedding anniversary here this past weekend. We booked Cottage 2 for two nights. Unfortunately our experience was lackluster at best. We arrived on Friday night to two danishes and a French press ready to go. First impression was great. The next morning, we ate the danishes. There was no communication from management regarding amenities, food, whatever else that may have been included, so we ate from the snacks we brought with for our planned hike and got meals from Multnomah Falls Lodge and restaurants in Troutdale. A sign in the bathroom warns that the plumbing is sensitive, and that if guests "let" the toilet run the hot water might take 24 hours to refill. My partner had to adjust the toilet fill three times because the chain was too long and would get caught under the stopper, causing the toilet to run. Not something the average guest should be expected to fix. There was little ventilation so when we showered, I tried to open the windows only to find the left casement window had a slipping crank. No number for assistance, just "Call with questions." At check in it was noted that no food service would be provided due to COVID, but reviews from a year ago mention dinner or at a minimum breakfast? Food was never provided/offered, nor were dietary restrictions considered (for example, I am sensitive to dairy but the danishes while delicious had dairy and caused me some GI issues after the fact). Returned from a long hike on Saturday to find no room service had been through, so we still had old grounds in the French press, no coffee refill, dirty coffee cups, and dirty sheets/towels. No room service is fine, the intent to not provide was never mentioned upfront. The final morning, we woke and my partner asked about refills for the French press around 8 am. Beatrix texted back almost three hours later, after we had long since checked out, saying there were refills in the lodge (no signage indicated this, nor was this communicated in any other fashion). Overall, disappointing for the price point. We live locally and have always admired the lodge when we come through the Gorge, and my partner wanted to celebrate our 10th in a special place. Unfortunate to say that while this place is beautiful, better can be had for the same price point. Nearby activities: Hiking, waterfall tourism. Great driving roads

Hospitable and accommodating! Beatriz is an amazing host. We rented out the entire venue for two nights for my daughter and family and wedding party as the wedding was held up the hill from the lodge at Bridal Veil Lakes. So much thought and love is put into the decorations and the entire ambience of the venue. Beatriz was very patient with me over the five months when I would send her questions since I wanted everything to be really perfect for all of the guests that would be staying there. She was always very responsive. Everything was clean and safe and homey. This is a great place to stay!

Everything about our experience was wonderful, especially breakfast! The wild mushroom French omelet is something I won't be forgetting anytime soon! We would easily recommend this to anyone looking for a fun and relaxing getaway!

Thank you for the feed back. Yes, I communicated with Nolan, during the booking on the limited availability for breakfast and provided my cell phone for any questions. Check in instructions provided my cell phone and on the mentioned bathroom sign.Management is me. I don’t generally make a lot of contact with guest if they don’t want to communicate. I did not have your cell number until Nolan texted me the following morning. Perhaps thats why we now only book through airbnb. We don’t service rooms unless there is an issue with like plumbing. The fact that you chose not to use the bathroom fan is beyond me. Thank you for notifying me regarding the chain. I will make sure to secure that.
