I came because a friend gave me a referral coupon for $40 off.. I presented it immediately when the appointment started. He was very personable and I had no problem with the job he was doing. I usually do my own taxes, but since my friend was so happy with his service I decided to take advantage of the coupon. He was able to answer a couple of my questions and it took him less time than it would have to do it myself. I was satisfied, but not sure it was worth it. Then towards the end he said " oh, no." When I asked what was up, he told me he forgot the coupon. I assumed he would remedy it at the end. When he said his goodbyes, I asked again about the coupon. My referring friend was supposed to get $40 as well. His response was "my bad" and he sent us both away without our $40 each, $80 in total. To me this is bait and switch. Why was he not able to fix his error and give us the money promised? To me, this is a scam and unless your company wants to remedy the situation I plan on telling everyone I know that Jackson Hewitt are not fair dealing, that they run bait and switch scams. I know it is only $80, but I am extremely upset and feel very cheated.
