My wife went to this gym for three months while on a travel assignment and was told when she signed up, there would be no cancelation fees. When she left, she was told she had to provide a statement that we moved to not pay the fees, which she did, and we were billed anyway.
This kind of lying to get clients in the door is extremely frustrating.

I really like this gym. Has alot of equipment that I like to use for my workouts. Only thing that annoys is me that people don't unrack their weights and it doesn't seem to be enforced. Shouldn't have to start my workout by spending 10 minutes unloading plates. It's common gym etiquette

This gym is the Average Joe's of the Providence area! The only reason I was a member for so long is that it was 5 minutes from my house. The gym itself is just okay; parking is difficult, and the group class schedule has limited choices, with classes getting cancelled without notice.
What ended up pushing me to finally cancel my membership was the yoga class I really liked being taken off the schedule completely, and during a kickboxing class that same week, the instructor told the class that we would have gotten a better workout staying home and eating a bag of chips. The first time I took that kickboxing class, the same instructor had us pair up with a partner and then said to look at them and say "I'm better than you". If there were more choices in classes, I would not have returned after that comment.
After deciding to cancel my membership, I was able to find a different local gym that offered a much more robust group schedule and was much nicer overall.
