image Owners, beware! This company doesn't do all it claims it will do. Read your contract carefully, as your idea of maintaining the property might not be the same as PMI's. Along with a host of other things they did, I'm hoping this review helps others.
PMI did a horrible job of finding renters for my daughter's 1yr old home. The renters they found completely destroyed their home!!!
My daughter and her family live in Germany, so I came down from MI to help them. Early on, when my daughter alerted PMI of problems going on via actual neighbor reports, PMI did nothing to stop the indoor smoking, the private business taking place, the loud music at all hours of the night, etc. PMI did not act when alerted and some of this could've been avoided.
I met with maintenance manager, Julian, who was tasked with finding the best bid to fix my daughter's home. Of course, he took the cheapest bid for the repairs. He even lied to the painter about how big the home was to get a cheaper bid (he told her it was a 4 bdrm, 2 bath home, it's a 5 bdrm, 3 bath home), then held the painter to that bid cuz he didn't have more money from the claim they filed. The first and best bid came in at around $48,000. This tells you how much damage was done to the home. But because PMI choose to fix the damage as cheaply as possible, (again, in the contract it says they will maintain to the "best of their ability", not to original state or to how most ppl expect it to be maintained), the repainting job was incomplete and not thorough, areas were forgotten to be painted, ceilings weren't painted, which is a requirement if there's been smoking in the house and closets weren't repainted (even though they got beat up by renters). Obvious holes weren't repaired til I came by and asked them to be repaired. I asked Julian for the ceilings and closets to be repainted and was assured by him they would be, but they never were. There is a part in the contract that says the owner can pay for repairs as they would prefer, but seriously!!! This damage wasn't our fault, but the fault of PMI and their poor job of vetting renters and not visiting the home when alerted of unallowed activity.
I walked through the entire home regarding cleaning and was assured by Julian that everything would look like "brand new". When cleaning was done, drawers still had makeup in them, white cabinets still had pink something on them and the 2 tubs were still brownish gray. I guess that's an improvement from black. Mind you, the renters were only in the home for 6 mons!!!
While I've been told they've changed their ways and have gotten rid of the maintenance manager I met with, I'd still be very cautious with them and I would review the contract carefully to ensure your home is restored to your liking in the event of renter damage.
I would never use this company based on my experience.

image Horrible experience and customer service. Listed a house for rent through PMI and to start things off their vetting process completely failed. Tenants within 6 months caused extreme amounts of damage. While trying to get these issues repaired through PMIs insurance coverage they provide, PMI failed to put in the necessary claims to fix the issues. I had quotes from companies to repair the damages and PMI chose to go with contractors that charged 10s of thousands less. I was stuck with fronting the cost myself due to the failed repairs had to pay to do them all over again. I am out of pocket thousands of dollars. PMI might be great when trying to find a house to rent but if you are listing a house to rent through them I would strongly encourage you to look elsewhere. Also very disrespectful when trying to get these issues solved. Would never recommend this company and have urged my other colleagues and friends to go with other property management companies.
