I had an appointment, and during check in instead of telling me right away that someone called out, I sat in the waiting room for 20 minutes. I was then told that my hygenist called out, and it would be a bit of a wait. Then I was taken to the back, to sit in a dentist chair and wait there instead of the waiting room (what is the point of that?). I went to the front to let them know I needed to reschedule (which I had already mentioned before getting taken into the back). I had work, and I couldn’t spend any longer than needed at the dentist. They assured me I would be out by 8:30 (at 8, my cleaning hadn’t even started). Telling me I would be out by a certain time, made me feel like my teeth wouldn’t get the cleaning/attention and that it would be rushed. I went to the front and asked if we could reschedule, because I have work. The office manager sat there and argued with me in front of two other people waiting in the waiting room. He kept telling me someone called out and they would have me out by 8:30. I was clearly uncomfortable with this and was asking to be rescheduled, but he would not stop battling every word I said about being uncomfortable. I asked him if we could stop bickering back and forth because I can’t wait for the cleaning. He then rolled his eyes and walked to another desk. While at the other desk, he continued to argue telling me that he told me someone called out and they would have me complete by 8:30. I told him I had work, and I hope he would understand and appreciate that and the bickering did not stop. I asked to have my records printed. He then told me I had “nothing but attitude.†I told him I was clearly very upset right now as you could clearly see I was shaking, from a worker arguing with me and not understanding I need to reschedule due to work. EXTREMELY UNPROFESSIONAL. I can’t believe an office manager would talk to someone like this. If they told me right from the start someone called out and it would be a delay, it could have been fixed. Instead they kept me waiting around and then argued when I told them I needed to reschedule due to work. I feel very bad for the woman up front who was very kind working with me. Things could have been resolved and rescheduled if her office manager did not decide to jump in, argue with a customer, and make them feel extremely uncomfortable. I feel a sense of relief having my records knowing I will not have to deal with them again.
