SpringHill Suites by Marriott Corpus Christi

I got a bad impression, since they didn't even open the hotel door for me. I arrived at Corpus at 2:20 in the morning after a 7-hour trip, and when trying to ask for information, Miss. The reception did not open the access door for me, and from their place they only yelled at me "no dogs", I travel with my support dog, it seems rude to me what this worker did towards me, that maybe I don't deserve good treatment just because Traveling with my pet, on the other hand, the hotel next door treated me very well and I was finally able to stay and really rest. People like that should not work in customer service, definitely a bad rating for this hotel.

My wife and I stayed one night (Saturday night). The room is larger than the rooms I get from Fairfield Inn. The bathroom is more upscale with a walk in shower, The separated living room area has a sofa/daybed that is converted by removing the back rest (large stiff pillows). A 2nd bed can be pulled out from under the daybed. The room was clean and nice enough to stay in for an extended period of time. The negatives: Road noise from the nearby highway is noticeable. Hallway noise leaks into the room also. Finally the mattress was stiffer than Fairfield Inn. Both my wife and I found it to be uncomfortable to our liking. Finally the HVAC system's control is hidden behind a lamp on the hallway wall. It was a scavenger hunt to find.

Good location for a few days. Breakfast was good and the staff were friendly and polite. The hotel itself could use a few updates but it was ok for my needs as everything I needed was close by. Walkability: Outback restaurant is walking distance.
