Nice easy walk to the beach. Property is dated, particularly the common areas. Service was kind, but rooms did not get cleaned during our three day stay, so we had to ask for coffee for the room. Overall decent value for the location

Older hotel, but very clean with friendly staff and a great location. The bar attached was a little loud, but it didn't keep me up.

Bed-Bugged. We were excited to find a Wyndham property on the island that was close to the beach we frequent, and a price point that was economical. My wife, who made the reservation and checked us in , was taken by the pleasant smell of amber in the lobby. The kids were tired and fussy, so we didn't bother with our usual walkthrough before committing to the stay. The elevator was loud and Shakey and missing the inspection certificate. Upon entering Room 416, we were greeted by the I overwhelming scent of mildew and mold. Turning on the a/c in the front room made it worse and the ceiling fan didn't work. Sylvester apologized for not being able to move us, but reduced our rate and said he would be able to move us the following night if we decided to stay again. So, it was either deal with the smell, or sweat all night. A bottle of frebreeze later, it was almost tolerable. The kids, and wife took the cold room, and I sweated and sneezed all night. The next morning my wife saw what she thought was a bed bug in her shoe. She squashed it and sure enough, blood. Eew. Upon further inspection, although we did not find bugs, we found bed bug excrement stains on the sheets. We called the front desk, but Sylvester wasn't due back until the afternoon. As promised, we were in fact, moved, this time into 316. Large room smelled fresh, by comparison. Upon inspection, we found dirty sheets, and stained curtains. What were the stains of, you might ask? Mildew, mold, and you guessed it, burgundy bed bug excrement. I showed the pictures to the Manager, Sylvester, the pictures of the bloody shoe, another bloody squash and swipe on the bed, and the stains on the curtains. After stating " that looks like mold on the curtains" I told him that it was, as well as burgundy bed bug excrement, to which he added, "yeah, I know what that stuff looks like" We decided not to stay. We were hungry, the kids were fussy, and finally after washing all of our clothes, we moved to Holiday Inn, next door. It didn't even dawn on me to get an incident report until after we got home, and my wife asked me to check her back for what she referred to as suspicious bites. I called the property and left a message for Sylvester to call me. After 5 days I had to call the property to speak with him, to see about getting an incident report. Since I'm no longer a guest, I can't get one from them. I was also told by Sylvester, " Sir, you showed me dots on a curtain. Longer story short: If the bedbug I found in my daughter's bedroom turns into an infestation that requires a very expensive treatment, I have to eat the cost. Don't make the mistake I did, or better yet, avoid the property all together. The place has bugs, at least on the east side of the property, despite their pest control person claiming that they don't. The evidence doesn't lie. I expected more from a Wyndham property. Edit: Just following up. We indeed brought these critters home with us. We found live adult bedbugs and many many newts. For anyone who's ever had to deal with this, you know what a pain in the butt it is to get rid of an infestation. Do not, I repeat, DO NOT, allow them to put you in room 416. Now that I have 1st hand experience with how bed bugs smell, I believe room 416 is ground zero. That moldy mildew smell I mentioned, is the smell of a bed bug infestation. It's my opinion that they are fully aware that there's an issue. You have been warned. Rooms: 416, 316

Its about what youd expect for accomodations in this price range. I think we paid about $100/night. Rooms are a decent size. Bed was comfortable. AC was cold. Full kitchen. Not a lot of cooking utensils so if you plan on using the kitchen plan on some cookware items may not be there. There is a Dollar General type store a short distance away if you need to purchase any cookware. There is a hot breakfast that has waffles, eggs, and sausage along with some fruit and cereal. All in all I would stay there again because of its location but dont expect 5 star accommodations.
