    They electronically signed me up for a 24 month contract over the phone without telling me it was a 2 year contract. I didn't even call viasat, I called spectrum and they sub contracted the service to viasat. After moving to a different provider and all equipment was disconnected , they claim that I still used data from them and they are charging an extra month of service. The internet was painfully slow and unusable. Also, when I was cancelling the service they kept trying to sell me on different packages after repeatedly telling him that I was not interested and had work to do. The service rep on the phone also said that talking to a manager wasn't possible. After asking for a manager a couple more times he said he would go get his supervisor so I waited several minutes and he said his supervisor said he couldn't talk to me right now but he'd call me back tomorrow to tell me the same things. Their internet service was terrible and their customer service felt more like talking to a scam artist.

    This company is a scam. They over charge. Don't let you reduce the quality of the image, so you can use all your data in one day! Their app doesn't allow you to do changes etc... we are getting out!! And to do that I have to pay they $100 !!!!!!

    App doesnt work, Internet goes out constantly, and over priced. Go with another company for your Internet. Also, Install technician said when you move you can just satellite and modem with you and well be there to setup at your new place LIE! Called when I moved and you have to send all the equipment back including antenna and modem. Then they have to send you a new one with a new 24 month contract. They dont care about the customer. Just nickel and dime all of them. So upset with install technician lying to my face.

    Worst internet company ever. They are literal thieves. You say you want to help? I called after the first day saying the internet didnt work and was told I was mistaken. Now I have to pay disconnect fee for 24 months because you lied saying your internet was faster than Hughes Net??? It never even worked well enough for me to zoom in to work! Give me my money back!

Discovery is only a 20 year veteran reseller for Viasat service, but I'm wanting to offer our help as I may. Call Mike at 512392 4434 so I can help. You can also call Viasat Corp at 855 463 9333, make sure you have your registered account number if you call them, however.You may email me at [email protected] for more info in written form, instead of a phone call. I guarantee you'll get better info and service and help from me on this issue, although Discovery had nothing to do with your issue, other than hoping to get the one star review adjusted.Mike.Www.davsat.com

Discovery is only an agent for Viasat internet services. We don't bill nor set the rates Viasat charges. Viasat is mainly for people with no high speed options for video because they live in a rural area, not served by a wireline (cable wire) carrier. Viasat offers 4 different prices for all customers. It is expensive because the very expensive satellite is 22,000 miles away and costs a fortune to build and launch to space. They used to have ability to reduce video quality but it caused streaming problems for the customer, therefore, the services the customer uses to stream (Youtube, Facebook, Netflix, Prime Video, etc. ) generally have tools on there sites to allow you to adjust the bandwidth directly at each site. Discovery is not your direct dealer ( we did not sell or set your account up), but your vendor who did, or VIASAT Corp (who you pay your monthly bill to) can advise you on ways to do what you complain about. Viasat is NOT a scam and has been a trusted internet provider since befor the year 2000. They also are the prime provider for service for most major airlines and shiplines, as well as the U.S. military, all over the world. Please address addtional concerns to Viasat Corp and not to independent retailers, such as Discovery, as we have no way to communicate with you, except by answering your complaint you placed against us. In my opinion you are mis-informed and could have your issues better addressed by calling Viasat who is listed on each monthly email you get from them for your bill. I hope you will do that.mike.

Hi Melissa, ViaSat is a satellite provided internet service intended for folks who live too far from a cable wire-line carrier which is always less expensive. Viasat (and HughesNet for that matter) communicate with a satellite in space 22,000 miles away. It's very expensive (as compared to a cable wireline carrier who uses telephone poles already in place provided by electric companies.), thus the reason for a more expensive service. ViaSat's service starts at $80/month for fast service. Cable service runs 10-25 less, but as i mentioned there cost of delivery is far less than ViaSat's, BUT Viasat can provide truly FAST internet connections, anywhere in the United States, something that cable providers cannot do. So, if you live in a rural area, not serviced by a cable company, ViaSat and HughesNet can at least connect you to the internet, something they can not do.Please call us regarding your service complaints. We are not the owners' of Viasat but represent and resell their service to folks in central texas.If you do not have exceptional service, which is actually what Viasat DOES deliver, then there are ways to rectify your service problems, which i would be happy to discuss with you, for no cost of course. Many residents are using WIFI service off their viasat modem, and if you are too far away from the modem (with your phone or tablet), then you'll have a weaker slower connection. Your phone gives you a wifi connection symbol in the top row of your phones screen, which shows the strength of the connection. WIFI repeaters are inexpensive and can extend your signals all over a large house so you have good wifi and speeds.We'd be happy to help, just call us 512 392 4434... ask for MIKE.. Anything I can help with?I don't believe you were my customer, Discovery is an independent reseller for Viasat, I do not own viasat Corp. The system CANNOT be activated by the installer if it is not within 100% spec--it just won't activate the account, as per Viasat Corp (not Discovery) I know this was back in march of 2022, when i replied how can i help, but i never got a phone call from you, to 'help' . The contract you sign (and the retailer who sold you) states what the requirement is (24 months), because the install is done at little to no cost to you, so they can't do trial service. But the installer, my company, and Viasat see exactly what your service is doing and run speed test up and down to make sure it is in spec. I was (am) simply trying to explain the service to you better, since your sales agent apparently didn't--but it was NOT Discovery.Viasat offers the very fastest speeds in the market and IS faster than Hughes which maxes out at 25mbps, Viasat starts at 25 and has 3 more levels going up to 100mbps, if you wish to pay for it. Other reasons for poor service is poor wifi for a big house, which requires the owner to add repeaters, to improve service in distant parts of the house, V.S. doesn't off that at all. There are other factors which i would discuss over the phone, but you did not call, as far as i know. I do NOT have your name Steven East in our customer list for Viasat.
