A lovely meal, good service, great location

The views out of the beautiful backroom dining room are glorious and the decor is great for a party or wedding. Bar also looked cozy. It was not busy. We asked for a view and got seated with a view of shrubs and garbage behind building. Luckily ee could look across the main dining hall to the glorious hils. The food was delicious but not innovative and portions were both overpriced and too big. Very old-school but not in a good way. Yes. Homemade mashed potatoes but overall a disappointment. Bland honemade bread. No flavor. Sad overcooked green beans. Meats were well prepared but boring. There are other more creative meals to be found in Bennington. We will not be returning.

The strip steak was dry and tuff and no flavor. My husband's turkey dinner the turkey was chewy. The vegetables were hard as a rock. It was very disappointing after people raved about this place. We won't be back.
