I recently took a tour of Proximity and was very impressed with how clean and modern the complex was. The club house, theater room and study are all newly renovated. The apartment units were furnished, very clean, quiet and spacious. The property staff were super friendly and accommodating - can't wait to come back and use the pool this summer!

I am really impressed by Proximity! I had visited a few apartment buildings nearby ODU, and Proximity was the best with the nicest amenities. Rose and her entire team have been so nice and hospitable. They have been upgrading all the amenities recently, and everything is looking really fresh and modern. I can't wait to use the pool, BBQ, movie room and lounge spaces. 100% recommend!

I have only had good experiences at Proximity at ODU. The office staff had been welcoming, kind, helpful and respectful to me. They staff makes the tenants a priority. Maintenance goes above and beyond as well. The custodial staff is always working. The rooms are nice with lots of storage area. The bathrooms are nice as well. The shared living space is nice and has the necessities. I know in the review people say they have cockroaches, but I feel like as long as you keep your living space clean you are safe from infestation. I have lived here for over a month and I havent seen any cockroaches in apartment. The surrounding area can be a little sketchy, but Proximity At ODU provides rides through the ODU transit. Great transitional apartment for a young adult.

HIDDEN FEES! A SCAM. I pay $945 the first month. THEN every month following that I HAVE TO PAY an ADDITIONAL "FEES" that varies. WHICH IS MORE THAN $58 dollars. They lay it out like this "electrical/gas/water: $23.50" and AGAIN "electrical/gas/water: $53.50" . KEEP IN MIND I have to pay an additional $111 to Dominion POWER. We have the ac and heater off to SAVE MONEY AND only do laundry once a week to save money. How are these hidden fees higher than what I pay to Dominion POWER? I pay $111 but that is SPLIT INTO two people. WE DO NOT EVEN TURN ON THE LIGHTS!
THIS IS OUTRAGEOUS. Last month I paid $1,031.24 THIS MONTH I have to pay $1,056.34 it is CRAZY. I work at ODU and they had the AUDACITY to ask them if they can "RECOMMEND" parents and students on campus to come live there. I told my boss NO.
DO not recommend this place. I will not be renewing my lease at ALL!!!
I AM JUST TOTAL SHOCK. THE ROOMS ARE disgusting when you move in. They are not clean. You literally have to clean and they do not change the air filters. They say they do check ups on these things but not once did they do that since I moved in August! I am very VERY clean person. I am in shocked how much the air filters need to be cleaned because dust particles from the vents in the bathroom are spread throughout the counter and toilet. It has been a task that I do every day. I HAVE TO DEEP CLEAN.
The transaction fee to pay online is CRAZY worst than paying property taxes with a credit card a fee of 2.5% that is truly WILD. That is every month. I AM A CURRENT resident. PLEASE just look somewhere else. IKEA has cheap furniture. It is NOT WORTH it. I personally do not know why they had to 'update' the office. There was no need they should fixed the walked way on the third floor.
I suggest looking 15 minutes out of the area much cheaper and you can RIDE THE BUS if you have issues with transportation. ODU and HRT have bus vouchers for students for $55. The same amount you have to pay monthly for parking passat this place.
I would not be surprised if I get a comment from DF saying how sorry my experience has been. NO! SOLVE THE ISSUE. WHY ARE YOU NOT stating this BEFORE SIGNING THE LEASE. WHY do it after our first payment!
The people that are writing good reviews. Are getting something out of it example rewards program like $5 gift cards. Instead of getting money off on your bill.
I AM THE HONEST ONE ! I am not getting nothing out of this but speaking the truth about this place.
