This new location is terrible. I have never in my life seen a more disorganized business. There customer service here is terrible. I used to go to the one on Virginia Beach Blvd was In-N-Out. The customer service was out standing. This one makes you give your check first and then you sit down and wait for your money. The first time I went, they forgot they even owed me money. Sometimes, you can be waiting up to 20 minutes or more just to cash a check you already gave them. While all of the customers coming in are standing and wondering when to walk up to a window. These people don't say "next customer", nothing. All they do is stand around and talk. This is the most disorganized Virginia First Bank I've ever seen in my life. I don't see how one location was so amazing and this place is the complete opposite. It's like all the employees are there just for a pay check and could care less about the customer. It's a complete shame this is the only location left open. It's a complete mess. I am a open minded person so, I will give them the benefit of the doubt considering that they're taking on all the Virginia First banks that have closed down and give them some time to get their stuff together but, it still doesn't change that the customer service here is terrible and the way they've got it set up is completely crazy. Again, I will give them the benefit of the doubt and say they are in JANAF shopping center which is not the best place to be and maybe that's why you got to wait 20 minutes or more for your money. Maybe, they got the money locked up or something like that because, robberies happen on that side of town but, it still doesn't change that people are standing in the line not even knowing when to walk up to a window. Customer service needs to be retaught at this place and some kind of organization skills put into place. How hard is it to say "Next customer please". If there was less than 1 star I would choose that instead.

I found out today that their location near me has closed down and that they only have one location open now in another city that is no where near where I live. I dont have a vehicle at the moment to get there unless I pay for a Lyft or Uber thats costing me extra money. I pay my monthly loan payment online and have to pay an extra $29.00 to do that. So when I was going there to get a drawdown on my loan balance I would ask for a paper check so I can avoid another $29.00 fee if I asked for cash and then deposit it back in my bank account the full drawdown amount. Now since I cant get to the only location thats currently open I have to make my drawdown online and get charged the same fee that I paid when I make my payments in person or online. Im going to try to build up my credit score so I can get a loan to consolidate the higher interest rates offered by companies like FVB from a credit union and pay it off completely.

They charge 100$ fee to take a loan out. And then they charge a 55$ fee to make a payment on it. Why is my fees almost as much as my loan!? They dont tell you that until after. That is crazy.

Things I look for in a business, courtesy, accuracy, friendliest, did I feel like a value customer. The 1St VA in Janef served up all that. I visited there on Sat and was assisted by a very friendly, representative named Donna . She explained the process to me thoroughly and checked with me consistently to see if I had any questions along the way. There was some information she needed and was even kind enough to help me locate it on my phone. I really appreciate that I was rushed. While signing the necessary documents she still checked with me periodically to see if I had any questions or if I was ok. She even put a caller on hold so that she could finish up the process with me. I appreciate Donna for helping to make my visit a positive one. I highly recommend this branch for any of your financial needs.
