I recommend using Clarity Mental Health and Recovery. Max Whipple lll was a great counselor to me and non judgmental about my past mistakes. That made it much easier to open up to him about what was on my mind. I didn't dread the weekly sessions and actually enjoyed conversations with him during my 6 months as a client. In full transparency, I was court ordered to get an alcohol assessment and attend outpatient treatment. After my assessment with Max Whipple lll, I knew I had found the right place. If I ever need counseling of any kind in the future, I know where to go. Thanks Max and Clarity. Adam M

Max Whipple III was the resource that encouraged me the most and changed my perspective about sobriety. The groups are low pressure and a time to listen and reflect with others about problems that everyone is going through so you feel understood. They also provide questions that make you think about your behaviors in a non judgmental light that got you to where you are and how to change them. The one on ones were something I looked forward to monthly and Max takes each and every client seriously and makes them feel listened to. He has a way of guiding you to goals and stay on track with them without you noticing until you look back and realize how far youve come. I couldnt recommend clarity and Max enough, they are great.

The counseling I have received for the past 6 months since seeing Kelly F at Clarity has been the most effective counseling I have ever received in the 7+ years I have been in therapy. He has been able to understand the issues I am dealing with and offer practical methods for me to address the issues I am working on. His advice is individually tailored to my personality and abilities and not just generic advice that would apply to people in general or someone with a different personality type. Kelly has a great personality and sense of humor, listens and communicates very well, and is knowledgeable on a wide range of topics (both related to counseling, life in general, and the Bellingham area). He is non-judgmental and very knowledgeable about the range of services he provides. Kelly uses a personal and caring approach to counseling rather than the cold and clinical methods used by some people in the field. As a result of Kelly's counseling, I have seen significant improvement in the areas I am addressing and as a result both my personal and professional life has benefited greatly. Unlike prior counselors I have gone to, I actually leave my appointment feeling better, less frustrated, and well equipped to address the issues on my own between appointments. Kelly is great at keeping track of what I report back to him the following week about the progress I've made or obstacles I am facing. The Clarity office has a welcoming and relaxing vibe as well as great views of the city, ocean, and islands. Lastly, it is refreshing to actually look forward to the counseling session every week and the conversations we have. I highly recommend Kelly F.
