The road side access point was disgusting with fish heads, oyster shells, smelly water full of algae, but once you navigate through a narrow, overgrown passage you reach the main river. It was quiet and peaceful. The current is lazy and easy to paddle against. We had to navigate over several smaller beaver dams and after about 1/4 to 1/2 mile, had to turn back because of a large beaver dam that completely blocked passage.
