Great place for a short quiet hike. Trail up to the top is a good hike.

A short walk on the path from the sizeable parking area takes you to the base of an attractive quarry. A branch path to the left takes you up onto the ledges which is a climb that's very worthwhile. The photos are from mid-May. There is no interpretive signage so I suggest reading the Wisconsin State Natural Areas website for the significance of this area geologically, especially in terms of the area's glacial past. A short distance north on Hwy 33, there is a historical marker with information. This SNA is one of currently 693 State Natural Areas in Wisconsin. For GPS owners wishing to visit many of these SNAs, a free custom POI file of parking areas for each is available at the the POI Factory.

Fantastic views and not a bad little place to hike. Well kicked in goat path on the west side of the bluff will take you up the bluff with side paths out to the 'steps' on the cliffs. For a more adventurous ascent you can also make your way up the east side of the bluff as well. There is a relatively well kicked in path once you get to the top of the bluff that will take you around the perimeter of the high ground. About 2 miles to make the loop. North side of bluff has long scenic views also but filtered through trees. For pictures and a link to an alltrails route map check out surf_n_turf on Instagram. Recommend for late fall or early spring for best views without leaves on the trees. We saw deer, lots of turkeys, rabbits and squirrels. Ample gravel parking area.
