Worst claims handling! I filed a claim against one of their insureds. She backed into my vehicle in a parking lot causing scratches on my car. I watched it happen along with a witness. Police report verifies incident/damages. Their insured drove away eventually claiming she did not know she hit my car. Progressive denied the claim saying they could not verify she hit my car and accused me of filing a claim for preexisting damage. They told me I had to prove the damage was not pre existing (it is a new car) and my only recourse was to file an insurance complaint. I am a 30 year claims adjuster and this whole matter stinks of BAD FAITH. They have ignored the facts and appear to be denying just to deny it. I will be filing an insurance complaint. and spreading the word of their inept claims handling practices

Progressive is now in the business of personal intrusive data collecting. I suggest you all run, not walk from this company and any others demanding non pertinent information. If you have Progressive and live with anyone else, even if they have different insurance Progressive demands to know personal info about then even stating they need his GPA, insurance, ss#. AGAIN NO RELATION TO ME AND HAS HIS OWN INSURANCE. Their customer service is horrendous, or they will AUTOMATICALLY ADD HIM TO MY INSURANCE POLICY. I assume their is some law out there protecting us from this gross misuse of power and intrusively collecting data by force of dropping you or sending you a bill for an additional $885! This company should be sued and the owners brought up on charges. If this has been your experience, please post a review!
