Holiday Inn & Suites La Crosse - Downtown, an IHG Hotel

Great location, and parking. The rooms are in need of upgrading showing signs of age and neglect.

The rooms are a little shabby and could use some updating. The adjoining bar/restaurant was closed permanently which was a bit of a bummer. With all the bars and restaurants nearby I imagine the competition is quite fierce. At least it was directly across the street from the convention we were attending. Walkability: Plenty to walk around and see.

I've stayed here 4 times, this time was the absolute worst experience. I had 2 rooms confirmed upon my arrival I was informed that the manager had canceled one of my reservations due to "Thinking it was a double booking" there was no concern or compassion shown by the front desk staff for the mistake I was given my 1 room and told to step aside so they could take care of people behind me and they would get us another room later. They did get us a second after 3 hours of waiting, when we checked into the second room the bedding was still wet from the washer, the room smelled like wet dog, the bathroom sink drained slow and the paint touch ups did not match the walls they were on. When we come back next year we will be looking to stay somewhere else.

Dont be deceived by this hotels beautiful lobby. The Rooms may look clean on the surface, but they are in disrepair. The carpets are gross, stained, and smell of mold and mildew. The bathrooms in both of our rooms were disgusting. When we went down to the front desk to see if There were different rooms. The front desk clerk was sleeping and not happy to be woken up. She literally told us there was nothing she could do. The pool room is so disgusting. It should be permanently closed. With so many amazing hotels in this area, that are less expensive, have better amenities I will never stay here again.

Cleanest stairwell in an older hotel. Great staff. Clean room.
