Katmai Lodge

With the help of an experienced guide, the whole family can have a satisfactory day out on the river. We certainly did! Let me be the first to say that I am by no means an experienced angler, which makes makes this 5 star trip all the more impressive. The location is stunning (with more to see than fish if you’re so inclined), the staff is knowledgeable and genuinely friendly, the lodging is excellent, and the food is delicious (with desserts that will have you going for a second helping). It’s also worth noting that the lodge provides a genuine sense of community! Every evening boasts a complimentary happy hour in the lodge where you and your fellow guests can gather around a beverage and an appetizer and swap stories while viewing photos taken by the guides throughout the day. Again, as a young woman with little experience, it was a kick to walk in to the lodge and hear, “wow, that was an incredible catch you had today!” A week wasn’t long enough. I look forward to many more summers spent on the river at Katmai Lodge.
