The reservation page warned us about check in and boat launch taking some time, but we were on the water fairly quick. The boat was pretty beat up, but they noted it on the inspection beforehand and my group didn't really care. I appreciate that the guy launching the boat was willing to wait for the other half of my party rather than making us launch and try to pick them up after. They also warned me the boat was a bit "finicky" especially going in reverse or bringing it up to speed quickly, and I was glad for the warning. We had a great day on the lake, made easier by the launch and pick up service since we were essentially a group of tourists with little boating experience. I had a billing question a few days later which they clarified promptly. 5/5 customer service, 3/5 on condition of the boat to be honest, so I feel 4/5 overall is fair.

This was our first time (July 27, 2021)renting a boat and was sort of weary of this place because of negative reviews. I have to say we were treated well by Kristen, Jonah, Breanna and one other gentleman but I’m so bad with names, I can’t remember his name, anyway, from the very beginning with my several phone calls, Breanna was great and patient in explaining how the rental process worked, what we’d be paying for, like extra tubes and gas. When we got there, on our reservation day, we didn’t wait but maybe five minutes. Kristen advised us to go to the boat and take pictures and to also video everything that didn’t look right, so we did. She also mentioned that if we didn’t leave a mess, that we wouldn’t be charged a “cleaning up” deposit, naturally we cleaned up our mess. She took the time, to help us find the right sizes of life vests we all needed, being that this was our first time doing this, we weren’t sure of the correct fit. Noah helped us load up the boat with our belongings, when we reached the loading dock he drove us (in the boat)into the water(very fun!) When we were done for the day we called the office and they sent someone to get us. We told the guy, that we didn’t know how to dock the boat onto the trailer, he said don’t worry about it. He got into the boat and docked it for us, (such a relief!) And that ended our wonderful, first boat rental experience. When we do this boat rental thing again, we will definitely be going back to Shaverlake Power Center. They had great customer service and we were very happy with how we were treated. I really hope they read this, so that they know, how good of a job they are doing and how much we appreciated all their help. It was a GREAT experience! Thank you to the staff at Shaverlake Power Center. Oscar & Monica

Place is a scam. We rented 2 jet skies and a boat quote, you one of there jet skies and the Boat It’s self were beat up. like the front of the boat was dented in and plenty of other stuff we pointed out to a man name Jonah. During the process they said since it was a slow day we can turn turn them in a little later. So they end up charging for a late fee and boat damage plus a cleaning fee they never mentioned. I feel beyond disrespected and disappointed in this place of “business”. I WOULD NEVER RENT FROM HERE AGAIN WE SPENT OVER 1200 with them and they still want to get over on my family. What a way of doing business is this.!!

DON'T waste your time or money. We rented 2, WaveRunners on 8/20/2020. We went online to their website the day prior on 8/19/20 and were able to book two units online for a "full day" which was supposed to be from 9am to 6pm, which made me skeptical. My kids REALLY wanted to experience a wave runner so I didn't want to disappoint and we decided to give it a try. When we arrived for our "full day" rental it took them over an hour to get to us in the water. The 4 wave runners they showed us had lots of damage. We almost decided to NOT go forward with the rental because of the condition. The kid checking us out, "Hunter" even admitted that the units had been heavily used and sometimes they don't always run. He carefully inspected each unit and I suggested he just take a picture or video so he could compare to the units when we returned, he laughed it off, which again was a red flag to me. Well, against my better judgment we decided to roll the dice and give it a try since our kids REALLY wanted the experience. Hunter brought the WaveRunners to the marina for us. It was 10:30am before we finally got to ride. When we got past the “no wake zone” and tried to get up to speed, one of the units didn't go above 8 miles per hour, when Hunter promised it was the fastest and would go up to 60 miles per hour. I had to call the office to notify them that one of the units didn't work properly. At first they acted like it was our problem and asked me what they wanted to do. I said, if they don’t run properly then what’s the point of the rental? I finally I convinced them to send "Hunter" and he brought another WaveRunner to swap out, which we didn’t “inspect” or sign off on existing damange prior to delivery. It was 11am before we FINALLY were able to get out on our "all day rental". They didn't offer any reduction in rental rate or discount for our trouble. The units were old and didn't handle well. Max speed was 40 miles per hour and they could barely turn. Due to the bad handling we barely used the units or any gas. We were not satisfied with our experience and brought the units back at 4pm an hour before we were told to bring them back. (we were told the pickup would be 5pm even though online the rental says to 6pm.) Hunter checked us back in, said the units were fine and we were good to go. We specifically asked if there was any check out paper work to sign off on or damage waiver and he said no, everything looked okay. The next morning at 10am I received a call, from a lady claiming to be an “owner” saying there was damage on one of the WaveRunners, accusing us of causing the damage. I explained that there was no damage when we dropped the units off and nothing happened when the units were in our possession that would have caused damage. When we dropped the units off Hunter said the units looked good and there was nothing else for us to do. The "owner" claimed the damage was fresh and that Hunter was not authorized to determine damage - although he was the ONLY person who looked at the units BEFORE we took them out and AFTER we returned them. Hunter said the units were fine....it wasn't until the "owner" decided they wanted to capitalize on a tourist that they decided there was damage. The units were so heavily damaged it is easy to pin "damage" on a tourist....I understand times are tough with COVID, but this is clearly an example of a company trying to take advantage of patrons to boost revenue. They tried to charge us $400 for what they claim to be damage, when ALL of the other body damage we saw had been fixed with duck-tape. $400 buys A LOT of duck-tape. The units were truly in poor condition before we used them and its clear they never use the funds the extort from customers to fix the units. I rarely post reviews, but I feel it’s my duty to warn the next consumer. Its your call but from my experience I don’t recommend this company unless you want to be scammed out of "damage funds" when they clearly don't even repair their equipment. You will see it from the condition of their units.
