PSA: “Aeration Guy” of Greenwood, Indiana NOT recommended for quality work!I wouldn’t normally take the time to construct a review that is negative for a company, but this one deserves it. On the contrary, I go out of my way to compliment and recognize quality work anytime I am being assisted.I had this company complete aeration on my lawn last week and leading up to the service being completed I asked the owner a time frame of when the service would be done so I could be present and make sure my gates are unlocked. He stated he does not give a timeframe and would just leave an invoice in my door, I should of seen the red flag there. This means I had to leave my privacy gate doors unlocked all day, which I wasn’t pleased with.Once I returned home from work I noticed the aeration was done and the yard looked good. When I went to my backyard to shut and lock my fence gate I noticed there was damage done to the wood. After looking at the damage I noticed the tire marks of the machine used were right up against my gates fence posts confirming the damage was done by the machine not having clearance through the opening without forcing it.I messaged the owner right away to understand why the damage done was not brought to my attention and confirm how we could rectify it.I received a response at 8:42 am today stating he didn’t see much damage but would provide 50% off the service for my troubles and would ensure future services could be done with a smaller walk behind machine.Then the owner sends another email response at 11:05 am and says:“I spoke with my employee and he said that the gate looked like that prior to entering the gate. I'm going to side with him. There might be a previous company who did that too your gate. Which I don't think is abnormal. Disregard the 50% from the previous email”My response is:“I can assure you there was no damage to the gate prior to your worker completing work at my home.As a homeowner I am pretty sure I would have a better recollection of the state of my property, than a worker taking the time to inspect my property before completing the work.You honestly believe your worker would of taken the time to recall seeing damage on my door, unless he was concerned that he hit it. As evidence of the pictures I sent you show the tires of the equipment used was literally right up against my post on both sides of the gate.I will send you the full $70 for the invoice but believe me, you will not get any further business from me and I will share my horrible experience throughout multiple advertisement channels.A simple, I apologize for damaging your property, would have sufficed but you choose to lose business and reputation over very little money.”Moral of the story: It is very difficult these days to find businesses to hire that will complete quality work and stand behind it. Great customer service definitely seems to be a thing of the past, especially post COVID era.I hope you all have a blessed day and take the time to find an alternative company for your lawn care needs besides “Aeration Guy”!
