In my opinion, this is a good B & B if your primary focus is staying in a prime/convenient location and focused on a good price. The price is very reasonable for this area. However, the experience was somewhat mixed for my wife and I. We have stayed in Bar Harbor almost 10 times and always in a B & B, but the prices this season skyrocketed, so we looked for other B & B options. The Holland Inn seemed perfect. However there were a couple of situations that we found undesirable. The Holland Inn has a requirement that we choose one out of three breakfast time slots. We had to choose a 730a, 830a or 930am time slot, when we would have breakfast. Picking a specific breakfast time slot, the prior day, was very unusual for us. Sometimes you wake up a little later and sometimes you wake up a little earlier, but you don't know the day before. In all prior B & B stays, we ate breakfast whenever we were ready, within a large window of time. Unfortunately, when we attempted to change our time slot the day prior, from 830am to 730am, there was confusion causing a need to perform an inventory to figure out which B&B customers "should" be eating at 730am and who should not. This was off-putting, as there were empty tables and we did not see the need to "inventory" the folks sitting there for breakfast. There was another unfortunate issue with the breakfast food, which resulted in us getting breakfast at nearby diners the last 3 breakfasts. The nearby diners are excellent. We stayed in two rooms, due to tight availability. Moving rooms is not a big deal, except we were told that our luggage would be moved for us, and we ended up moving some of our stuff and finding someone else's stuff in our "new" room. Not a big deal, but I think room moves should be more seamless. The Cadillac room was very roomy and quiet. Having a TV was nice, as many B & Bs do not have TV inside the room. Bar Harbor is a fantastic town with so much to do, in town and in Acadia National Park, which is 10 minutes drive from the Inn.

Evin is a very welcoming hostess! Lots of tips on what to do and her favorite restaurants. OMG...salivating just thinking of her gourmet breakfasts. She shared her recipes with my daughter Jen and I. Lemon pancakes, blueberry baked French toast and fritattas. Delicious!!

Great location (short walk to downtown/Acadia shuttles) with a very accommodating staff. Clean rooms, off-street parking, awesome water pressure, and delicious breakfasts prepared each morning. It has to be the best value on the Island. We will definitely stay here again when we visit Bar Harbor.
