BED BUGS!! Went to the room to sit down and watch tv and I wasnt there for more than 10 minutes and saw three bed bugs crawling on the comforter Went down to the front desk to notify them and the lady started arguing with me saying theres no bed bugs Horrible rooms and service

We booked rooms here after a bad experience once we landed in Portland. We really enjoyed our stay. All the staff was friendly. The rooms were clean and the staff was friendly. I was not super impressed with the breakfast but that is ok we just went out for breakfast. The only reason they didn't get five stars is because there were bugs in our rooms. They need to get that part fixed. They were beetle type bugs and only by the window but still gross and scary.

On 3/24/24 our state of Maine was hit with a major ice storm, causing many people to lose power. As a precaution, and to get our children out of the cold, my fianc went to the Ramada to try and get us a warm place for the night. After being told by front desk that he could not pay, until he returned for CHECK IN at 3:00 pm, it was made clear we planned to try and find somewhere sooner for our family, and he was again told it was okay, and they were not allowed to charge his card until they knew what room he would be in, and until he CAME back for check in. After we left we quickly found a better place to go to accommodate our children, and tried to call several times to assure they knew that they could take rent the room to another family in need and that we were allset. After several different calls to the front desk all of them went unanswered. The next morning we saw they charged us DOUBLE for a room, we never got the key to, and we never showed back up to rent. She made it clear he couldnt pay, and never mentioned he would still be charged if he didnt show back up at three. She made it seem as if there were many rooms available, and there was no need to pre pay until we arrived back for check in. After we tried to call and ask why they charged him, the front desk girl was very rude, not listening, and said there is NO manager, or any sort of customer support. She also told another man that entered the same thing. You can pay at three. he was in the boat as us the night before. The woman was very rude, and stated we could do whatever we wanted to but we were not going to recieve any money back, and to just get over it. We spoke with a woman at customer service who said there would be a manager at shift change and to try and call them. After doing so many times and again, NO answer. Finally a man picked up at 7:00 at night. And reported that there was no manager, but would be one later that night. Each time I call they just say, no manager sorry and hang up, as if its a game of cat and mouse. I am appalled someone could treat people in such a way, when theyre truly at a very low point, trying to find shelter for their children. And it has been nearly impossible to speak with anyone regarding this manner. This hotel is very dirty, they smoke in the front lobby, and have had many cases of bedbugs. Also their staff is extremely rude and entitled. I would NOT recommend unless you want to be scammed and never have a way to speak with someone of authority. I hope they make some changes because this place is absolutely horrible.
