Good quiet location with lots of local food choices available. Very affordable for what you get as far as rooms go. They could use a little more front desk help.

Easy check in, large room comfy bed and pillows. Excellent location for shoppers.
Rooms: Good sized room and big screen TV
Walkability: You can walk across the street to the Maine Mall.
Food & drinks: Lots of good food options around the mall

I was looking for an affordable, clean, and quiet place - wasnt expecting any frills, but this place still was awful.
Pros:
-Quick drive from the hotel into Portland.
-Friendly front desk staff.
-Dog friendly.
Cons:
-Walls and doors are so thin you can hear upstairs neighbors word-for-word conversations. Which means if youre unlucky enough to have neighbors loudly talking and singing between 6-8 am on Sunday morning like we were, you get no sleep during that time. The front desk said they would try to reach them but nothing changed.
-The hotel is dog friendly, which is great when it comes to well behaved dogs, but there was a dog that was clearly left alone in one the rooms and barking incessantly driving everyone nuts. The front desk said several people had called in about it but they didnt know the room number until I mentioned it (which I found odd because if you just walked down the first floor hallway it was obvious which door/room it was). So beware, if youre hoping for a quiet place to sleep.
-There were huge stains on the mattress side that I noticed as I was untucking the sheets to get in.
-Some drunk guy threw up the entire length of the hallway, like literally up and down the hallway, and for the next 16 hours the hall still smelled so badly like vomit that it was unbearable. I checked out before they got carpet cleaners (which they said they were planning on doing later)
-There is weirdly not a single place to hang a towel in the bathroom - no hook or drying rack on any of the walls or door.
-They do not offer any water at the free breakfast in the mornings and, if you ask if theres any water, theyll point you to the gym
-Also several people were walking around the hotel common areas barefoot, including at the free morning breakfasts. (WHY??)

Great alternative to downtown Portland. The rooms are comfortable and clean. It's a short drive to Portland so perfect if you are driving and don't mind driving or ubering downtown.
