Braeside Lodging

If you are visiting the Woodstock VT area this is the perfect location to have as your base. First...the hotel. It is an older style setup...but very updated and very clean. Staff takes this seriously. The room is large compared to the cookie cutter highway hotels....no need to squeeze around the furniture to move around in the room. Good bed and TV...great shower and there is a mini fridge. Everything my wife and I needed for a 2 night stay. This is a family owned hotel and they are such sweet people....very easy to communicate with! They both told us about things to do and see in and around Woodstock VT. From restaurant recommendations that were spot on...to some back roads directions that led us to some fantastic views. We saw an old cemetery with a number of Revolutionary War vets, 3 different covered bridges which interests us, found an amazing thrift store in this HUGE old wooden building in the next town down from Woodstock...Bridgetown? After our explorations we took advantage of the huge Adirondack chairs on the beautiful hill overlooking some nice country scenery....postcards could be made of this view!! One place we loved was the Woodstock Market....I found some hard to get Vermont Craft brews and we decided on a couple of big sandwiches and salads for a picnic table lunch. In the end...we had a wonderful time in the area and would so recommend the kindness and hospitality you will experience while staying at The Braeside Lodge Woodstock Vermont.

Comfortable and quiet rooms. And a great view from the Adirondack chairs on the front lawn, of the rolling hillside farm North of the Otaquechee River

The room is dated (60's wood paneling- painted white, other fixtures dated). The room is overpriced for the value (Almost $200 for a country motel????)

Really wanted to like this. Very basic, beds smaller than I thought, tough parking. Someone else's underclothes (previous guest?) and construction materials under the bed. And bathroom invaded by ants our last morning there.
