        Apparently confirmed reservations dont mean anything at this hotel. I reserved a room via the IHG app the day of our stay (yesterday, April 5, 2024). Gave my credit card, got a confirmation number. Even got a notice that if we no-showed our card would get charged for the night. After a 6 hour drive, we get to the hotel a bit after 8 pm. After confirming my reservation in the computer, the woman at the front desk tells me that they have no rooms. I ask how is that possible since I have a confirmed reservation. She then tells me that theyre fully booked for the night and the hotel policy is that when theyre fully booked, theyll give any unoccupied rooms to walk ins. Which is, as she told me, what happened. That is the stupidest policy Ive ever heard. Also, this woman gave not one iota of a care that my family and I had a confirmed reservation and now had to go find another hotel after a long day of travel. We ended up at the Holiday Inn down the street, the staff at which was very kind and were appalled at my experience at this Candlewood Suites. Go to the Holiday Inn instead.

        BEWARE BEFORE BOOKING HERE!!! I made reservations in January to stay here for a wedding and in late march, 19hrs before I was set to check in to the hotel, I got a call from the assistant manager on duty saying that they were cancelling my reservation because they had guests that wanted to extend their stay to stay extra days. They did not offer me an alternative place to stay or anything. Just sorry you have to find somewhere else to stay, we are canceling your reservation.

      Candlewood Suites Mobile Downtown is located in the heart of downtown Mobile in walking distance of historic neighborhoods, the Dauphin Street Entertainment District, museums and restaurants.We are close to all interstates and easily accessible from the Port of Mobile. Brookley Complex is five miles from the hotel. The USA Medical Center is two miles from the hotel.All guestrooms include fully equipped kitchens. The hotel has a residential feel and atmosphere with all the right amenities including an outdoor swimming pool.
