Evangelyn - We are really sad to learn you feel so poorly about your time within our community. Your home received 2 separate walk-throughs prior to you moving in over that weekend (one by the manager, and another by maintenance). On Monday morning, our maintenance team informed us you had called the emergency maintenance line over that weekend and were upset about the smell of cigarette smoke. So, that morning the manager quickly came to your home to investigate your concerns, but she did not smell any smoke. She asked maintenance to stop by and they were not able to smell it either. Regardless, we offered to transfer you to the neighboring unit, as that was all we had available at the time. We gave you the opportunity to walk the unit, which you did, and you approved the transfer and signed the new lease. You approached us about a month later upset with your new neighbors (who had leased your original unit), and asked to be transferred again because of noise and the smell of smoke. We were unable to provide you with another transfer and confirmed the new neighbor had not taken up occupancy of the unit yet, as they were in the process of moving from out of state. We were really sorry to learn about your car break-in, and appreciate you providing us with the police report number. We have called the officer’s number you provided several times and left messages but they have not returned our calls. We are very interested in learning more about this incident as we have not received any additional notices of this happening to others within the community.
