Joel Rook is dishonest and racist. I was the victim of police brutality recorded on bodycam. Once he reviewed it with me he immediately left the meeting and notified the , state who was unaware of the incriminating and exculpatory evidence and quit the case. Ultimately, through our right threats and intimidating acts a false plea to disorderly conduct was contrived through his buddy Anthony Russo.

Joel, lacked in communication terribly. his care and concern was minimal and seemed extremely lethargic and detached from the case and processes at hand. He missed one of our court hearings with no explanation to myself nor The Court. He failed to present a valid argument and offered no cross examination for my defense. He did not object to statement or any material presented by the state. Joel Rook blatantly gave little to no effort to defend me and during trial recess spoke about the process of withdrawing as counsel because I wanted to take the stand in my own defense after he tried to sabotage a felony case that held prison time. He also appeared under the influence of a substance. Fortunately, with no effective counsel or guidance from Joel, I was found not guilty of the charge because was put in the position to go against the advice of my counsel Joel Rook. There’s something unsettlingly odd about Mr. Rook. I thanked him but wouldn’t recommend him even For free, I would have been better off Pro Se.
