The Guild Downtown | Radius

If I could rate 0 I would. This "hotel" has only aVirtual staff which is virtually nonexistent as they never answer the phone.  The "text front desk" option is horrible as they seem to only respond sometimes. They were not available 24 hours if there is an issue. Virtual key won't work if your screen is cracked or the face of your phone is damaged. They offer physical keys but not availableUntil you're actually inside of the room. This is an apartment building, so don't expect breakfast, staff to help answer questions, or security. Cool location, perfect if you are in college or looking to just party.  but for me, it's not worth the overwhelmingly bad service and customer relations set up for this location. I have a reservation for a full week and if I could cancel & get my money back to stay somewhere else, I would in a heartbeat!

Where do I start? Let's just say this was the worst nights sleep I've had at a "hotel" to date. First off, this isn't a hotel, I believe it's an apartment building as there is no staff. Maybe The Guild owns a floor? It was difficult to find the building and confusing to get in the building the first time entering. Upon entering, we observed trash cans filled to the top outside apartment doors all along the hallway to our room. The room itself was nice for being in an incredibly old building. There was no cable service, if you wanted to watch tv, you needed to sign into your own streaming service; wtf? Then the ironing board was tall enough to accommodate someone 4'5.  There was no hot water either day, luke warm at best. The toilet clogged more than once. The shower had long hairs (appeared to be women's) stuck to the walls and on the towels. Upon trying to sleep, there was no shortage of ragged out cars racing up and down the streets then a group of woman began a huge brawl outside; cussing and screaming. Other guests began banging on their windows and shouting down for them to shut up before they finally disbursed.  I looked for a way to drown out the noise but found none. Not sure why their windows weren't more sound proof. I didn't get even a wink of sleep. I left 3 hours before check out.I hate to give a bad review, but this stay itself was the pits! I would not consider staying at another Guild property. You're better off staying at a Holiday Inn that includes parking and at minimum; can provide hot showers. I'd request a partial refund of my night stay if I thought they would work with me. Big disappointment!

We loved our stay at The Guild! It was certainly unlike any hotel we've ever stayed at, but it was easy and convenient. We used the virtual key to enter the building, however, once you're in the room they provide key cards if you prefer. The room was lovely! It was equipped with a full kitchen as well as a washer and dryer. I was impressed by all the thoughtful details including packets of vinegar or hot sauce for cooking. They even provided laundry pods if you need to do a load while away. Although there isn't any one at a front desk, the team is very quick to respond to texts. Some visitors reported issues with noise. We did not experience that. It was perfectly quiet when we we were ready for bed. Overall, it was clean, easy, and a wonderful spot. I highly recommend!

***THIS IS NOT YOUR TYPICAL HOTEL. This is basically an airBnB with great host service. The "hotel" is actually a condo building and a company has bought units and rents them out. I wish I would have done more research before booking, because my husband and I specifically wanted a hotel with breakfast, room service, ect. Because this isn't your typical hotel you also need to submit a "selfie" and a picture of your ID and they do a mini "background check"... didn't like this either... because now they have my if information and a picture of myself. Other than my mistake of not doing the research, the unit we are staying in is in great shape. If you don't like super fluffy pillows and need something more firm, I'd recommend bringing your own pillow. The kitchen is fully stocked with appliances, the balcony has a great view, and the location is on point.
