image Matthew Richardson was phenomenal. We had another company come out first to look at our gas leak with a line connected to our range. They were convinced that the range itself was the issue and that they couldnt help us, so we contacted Friendly Home Services. They sent out Matt, and he identified the issue within 2 minutes of looking at the line and the connectors that the connector to the gas valve was the likely culprit based on the junction likely to be for regular pipes and not flaired for gas connection. He quickly and professionally made the necessary changes that fixed the gas leak. We are incredibly delighted that Matt was the one to come out and could fix the issue! Service: Find & repair leak

image Best prices in town by far and incredible, honest service! They put a full bathroom in my unfinished basement. They’re the ones I’ll be calling for any plumbing needs from now on. Very satisfied.

image Service was excellent and rapid, was able to get an appointment in less than 24 hours with complete furnace upgrade same day as we were currently without heat. Representative that was out to give me a quote was very professional and polite, and the installation guys left the job well done and cleaned up very well.

image I originally rated them 5/5 for coming out same day and installing a furnace when our old one died. We then hired them for a bath remodel, which is why I've changed the rating to 2/5. We got a really nice looking bathroom, but it came at a HUGE cost because it wasn’t what we envisioned, huge mistakes happened and there was a lack of communication and accountability.
If you’re hoping to work with a company who will be crystal clear about everything you’ll get in your project and work with you to make it happen, these guys aren’t the option for you. I was hoping for an itemized list of everything included but just received a bid with general wording. This seemed fine in the moment because I was told the price reflected all parts and labor. But in the end, there were items on the quote that weren’t fulfilled. I originally reached out to update my drain pipes in the house. The bid said they’d update the drain pipes in the kitchen and bathroom but I was later told that wasn’t the case and they were only updating the ones in the bathroom. I’m not even sure if that happened or not...
I’m also a big planner. If you’re the same, you’ll be frustrated by this company. I was told I’d meet with my contact and their contractor to plan out the remodel. The day we decided on was apparently the day they wanted to get started with the demo. I was told it’d be fine and went against my gut and let them start. After everything was demoed, I realized my vision for the bathroom was different than the vision FHS had. On top of that, we were now compromising on a ton of stuff (much smaller vanity, etc.). We also were now having to wait for weeks to get the stuff we needed (tub, vanity, tile, etc.). A simple meeting before demo would’ve resolved this issue because we would have demoed later while waiting for parts to come in. Because that didn’t happen, we went 6 weeks without a toilet on a small bath remodel.
Throughout the project, lack of communication happened all the time (here are a few examples):
- Getting a bid from FHS for a contracted work, but the contractor added $1500 and acted like he never heard that price.
- Not knowing when people would show up and receiving 'I'm here' texts
- After the contractor was done, FHS had no idea so I had to schedule a time a week later for them to install the toilet and bath/shower hardware
Time and time again, things were done that caused issues or headaches. Here are a few:
- We had to push back on bad ideas like putting a vent in the middle of the room
- Hot water was connected to our toilet; needless to say, trying our bidet for the first time was awful haha
The worst, however, was when they incorrectly hooked up a pipe that caused a leak in our downstairs. While fixing the leak, a wire was cut and we lost power to half our house. The next day, one of their electricians came over and looked at our electrical situation. He said we couldn't just patch it up, but would need to update our panel, add a ground, etc. Here’s the kicker: I was told that the electrical work was now the bottleneck. Before finishing our bath remodel (which was supposed to take a couple weeks), we needed to address the electric work and doing so would double the price of the project. It all felt really sketchy but they just stood there and waited for me to make a decision on the spot before continuing work on the project. They kept saying they legally couldn't just patch it up. What was I supposed to say? No, we'll take a gutted room? So we went ahead with it. They sent a bid for the added electrical work. At no point did they claim responsibility or ownership of this issue. If it weren’t for them cutting into that wire, this wouldn’t have needed to happen now.
If a company makes a mistake that costs close to $10,000, they should be the ones paying for that mistake, not the customer. We talked to them later and they gave us $1500 off the electrical work but the doc they sent was the full amount so I called and they said they'd send another. After not hearing back for a week, I reached out again. I have no words. Services: Install thermostat, Remodeling, HVAC maintenance, Install heating system, Install AC, Find & repair leak, Unclog drain
