A great place to stay if you want to relax. Swimming pools are lovely, and there are a lot of them. The hammocks were a nice addition and very restful. Fitness center was used a lot. We felt very safe staying here and the resort is very well taken care of, with beautiful landscaping and everything is up to date.
Rooms: Rooms are modern and beautiful
Nearby activities: Old town la Quinta is only 5 min away, a bunch of hiking trails nearby.
Safety: Guard at the gate so felt very safe

Place was very lovely but communication with our host was very poor non existence at all. Never responded to my emails giving us instructions on keys and check in time. The grounds were beautiful and our room is clean. I would come back but hopefully will not encounter the same host.

Beautiful property and extremely well maintained. It feels like you are at a Ritz-Carlton. The 3-bedroom unit we rented was adjacent to the main pool and the bonus was that we had a private lap pool right behind us too. The hammocks throughout the courtyard were fantastic for late night star gazing. I have rented here multiple times over the last 5+ years.

I had to cancel my booking and the staff was helpful to file the insurance claim. However, the insurance was difficult to work with and hidden items in there policy allowed them to only refund 60%. I even had a doctors note. If you think you need to cancel this will not be a good option to book. You will not get fully refunded.

Heidi was promptly reimbursed 60% based upon the coverage she purchased. She did not submit documentation to the insurance company in support of the other 40%. We informed Heidi of the documentation required and that she could resubmit with the proper documentation. She declined. We even offered to credit Heidi the other 40% personally and she will not respond to our outreach. We are not part of the insurance company but do our best to assist our guests through the process as a courtesy.

Im sad to be posting this review, because I really wanted to enjoy my stay here. I did a lot of research on this hotel/resort and a few others before booking my stay. The plan was to spend a few days in La Quinta and just absolutely zen out. I picked this resort because there are so many different amenities and luxuries available on site. I liked the fact that I wouldnt have to leave much. My stay was reserved from the 27 of may to the 31st. The first night went very very well. It was so quiet and serene. The room was very clean feeling, the property itself is absolutely stunning, parking was a breeze. It was all going well. The second day started off well. Their biggest pool where you can lounge under cabanas is by far the busiest. There are numerous pools on the property, my one complaint is not having enough shade. They had some umbrellas near the pools but they dont do much to shield you from the sun and heat. It was about 100 when I was there. I was a very short distance from a pool that was completely empty and I thoroughly enjoyed that. That day I spent mostly out and about exploring La Quinta, when I returned back to my room, I noticed the resort was quite busier that it was the night before. I assumed that it was because of Memorial Day. Initially it was okay, but I did notice some rather noisy guests had checked in across from my Casita. They were playing music on a speaker and their kids were playing right in the communal space outside the casita. A couple hours later, someone checked in in the Casita above mine. I was taking a bath at 10 when I really noticed them. I dont know if this was more how they were walking or more about how thin the floors were but it seemed as if they were stomping from 10pm to midnight. I mean stomping. The walls would shake, the shower door would rattle, the ceiling fan would even rattle. It was unbelievably loud. At one point at about 11:30, I reached out to management and let them know. They said they would notify the guests and ask them to keep it down. It did quiet down for a short time, and then started right back up again and went until about 12:30am. On the 29th, well, that entire day was MISERABLE. Across from me, directly above me, and above me to the left all of the guests knew each other. They were throwing a party all day long. Extremely loud amplified music, yelling and loud voices, doors slamming, stomping. I mean, it was just miserable. I really was not trying to be difficult or high maintenance, but I came to this resort specifically to relax, and when everyone around you is partying it is very very difficult. When I first booked, they ask you to go over the policies, I believe you even sign something to acknowledge them, one of the policies is a noise ordinance which they say is enforced. I was in contact with management a lot. I didnt expect no noise, it is a hotel, but I was in the middle of several parties. It was a battle I wasnt going to win. I reached out to management, and spoke initially to Dan. Dans response did not impress me. His exact words were, This building was actually built better than 99% of the hotels out there but people are going to celebrate a little with their families on a big holiday weekend. This was not a little celebration. And had I known I would be competing with amplified music, yelling and loud voices, and stomping until midnight two nights in a row, I would have chosen a different resort. I reached out to Michelle who generally has been easier to deal with. She apologized and said she would refund me for Sunday night. I tried to stay out of the resort for the majority of that evening so I wouldnt be so annoyed , and every time I came back, I felt pushed out by the guests. I felt uncomfortable. Checked out the next day. Very disappointing stay. Miserable. I wanted to love it, but my experience was just awful.
Update- Owners have updated their originally very defensive response. I also did not receive a full refund, only a refund for one night as I checked out early.

Despite the villa owner and the entire Legacy Luxury Rental management team working around the clock through their own holiday weekend to appease this guest and even refunding her money, there was just no making her happy. She came to stay on Memorial Day Weekend, the official kick-off to summer. We are a family style resort. People come here to enjoy themselves and there will occasionally be the sound of other human beings living their lives. Legacy Villas provides amazingly well-built vacation villas and casitas in a spectacularly beautiful mountainside setting with a wonderful array of lavish amenities that rival any great resort in America. We pride ourselves on going the extra mile to provide all of our guests with unmatched service. There are also no finer accommodations available anywhere at any thing close to our prices. Constructed in 2006 to the strictest building codes and highest quality standards, the improvements at Legacy Villas are among the nicest in existence. However this is a Resort (not a private secluded ranch), which means that it is a destination for other travelers to enjoy at the same time together (this may be especially evident during peak holiday periods). On-site staffing is available 24 hours a day to ensure that noise levels and courteous interaction is maintained at all times and that every guest has the same ability to reasonably enjoy there stay. This results in an overwhelmingly positive experience for 99% of our guests. Though also trying hard to appease the 1%, we simply can not control every factor of a stay or guaranty the complete happiness of every individual choosing to stay at the resort. But we will certainly keep trying :)
