The location is great. I have stayed at
two other Placemakr locations in DC. This one was filthy and unfortunately uncomfortable.
I was asked for feedback, shared it, and have
received no response. Kitchen was inadequately stocked with likely the original stove from decades ago. Drawers were fiberboard without sliders. The noisy dishwasher did help block the loud voices from next door. The bed was uncomfortable and the sofa soiled. The rug had a large wrinkle you tripped over, The bathroom marble was cracked and toilet and sink were crookedly installed.
The lack of AC has been mentioned in other reviews, with window opening a noisy solution. There was no housekeeping and little interest in helping. Doubletree
should have reached out with a comp to make things right, but that has not occurred and reading (too late) the responses to prior reviews I can only hope senior leadership steps I to make amends

It is one block from all the action and live bands. The rooms were amazing and clean. All the staff were great.

I had an absolutely amazing experience here. The room was excellent and clean. The staff I interacted with was not just kind and helpful, but also extremely competent and seemed legitimately sincere in wanting to make sure my stay was good.
One of the best experiences I've had travelling and I will definitely look for placemakr first when traveling in the future.
Rooms: A credible clean 1 bedroom apartment at the price of a bargain hotel.
Nearby activities: In an excellent part of town for wandering.
Walkability: Walk to restaurants, tidal basin, and liquor stores.
