Moving to this apartment has had a profoundly negative impact on my life as a young, educated 23-year-old navigating through the challenges of adulthood. Despite my initial excitement for a fresh start and financial responsibility after graduating college, the experience quickly turned sour. Communication issues surfaced even before I signed the lease, with delays and unfulfilled promises adding to the frustration. Despite these warning signs, I proceeded with the lease due to the attractive location and affordability compared to Chicago. Within months of moving in, my troubles escalated when I was unexpectedly locked out of my rental payment account. Desperate to resolve the issue and maintain my financial stability, I reached out to the office repeatedly, only to be met with unresponsive staff and closed doors. This pattern of neglect persisted for months, culminating in a shocking eviction notice served to me, causing immense distress and uncertainty. Facing legal proceedings without the means to afford representation, I struggled to defend myself against mounting fees and accusations. Concurrently, my vehicle, parked in the resident parking zone, fell victim to vandalism, adding to my financial burdens and sense of insecurity. The cumulative effect of these challenges left me with insurmountable eviction costs and without a vehicle, pushing me to the brink of financial instability and homelessness. Despite my initial affection for the space, the failure of the property management team at KC High to address my concerns and provide adequate support has left a lasting impact on me. As I reflect on my departure from the apartment and encounter a new management team, I can only hope for positive changes for future residents. While the new property manager showed promise, my experience has left me scarred by the past events and financial repercussions.

This place continues to go down hill by the day. We were just kicked out of our storage units with 10 day notice and told we can't have welcome mats or decorations on our doors. Yet, the bug problem is out of control, the lobby call box has been out of order for YEARS, and they can't even keep the hot water going. STAY AWAY.

Can't even keep hot water running consistently for a full week. Don't care about issues and if you complain they will "educate" you on how antiquated the building, its plumbing, and its utilities are. If they're all so old and out of date then use our rent money to replace them instead of lining your pockets with it. The term slum lord would be too good for these people.

Do not live here. You can check out the KC Tenants Union Instagram for reasons why. If you have to live here, document everything: the condition of the unit on move in, any maintenance requests, and do not sign up for automatic payments for your rent. As others have stated, your vehicle is not safe here and the parking lots don't have cameras. Also, if you ever need to escalate a complaint you will receive no response from Sentinel Real Estate Corporation which is the property management company.
