Yankee Peddler Inn

This inn is a good value for the area and is close to shops and restaurants. The parking is tight, so you may want to make sure to get a small rental car. We had the double queen room, which was adequate in size. The room could use another mirror, and the bathroom has limited space to put your toiletries. Also, towel racks or hooks were absent. We found that just a few inexpensive additions like this would really help! The beds were comfortable and I slept very well with all the waking during the day. Loved the chocolate chip cookies and delicious coffee daily.

AMAZING. If we return to Newport, I hope we can get a room here again. Very old-school house, so don't expect serious tech amenities, but they definitely do their best. It is charming, the rooms are decorated beautifully, the roof deck is amazing- really worth a stay. The only complaint I have is the lack of ventilation in the bathroom- a steamy shower can be a problem when there isn't a vent or window that opens. If TV is a big deal to you, maybe ask for a room with a larger one. We didn't use the one in our room but it might have been a challenge to view from the bed if we had. Breakfast was lovely- continental, but better than the usual chain version. Service was great. Location was amazing. Walkability: Close to many restaurants, shopping, a couple mansions, museums, library, ocean views- all in walking distance. Food & drinks: Breakfast- above average for a hotel continental breakfast. Many options, charming atmosphere.
