I just had the best customer service Ive ever received in Burnet Tx I was actually in a bum mood and had to stop in to get some propane for my RV and two ladies inside the office was so happy and the vibe they gave was amazing! Put a smile on my face and turned my mood around. Lets not forget about the hard working happy man that filled my tank! Thank you star propane for turning my day around.

Startex propane has been amazing to work with. We havent ever had a propane tank before and going through the process of running out was a bit of a headache but the employees that we worked with and our technician Dana that came out made the process very smooth! We will be customers for life!

I am a customer of Star Tex. After leaving a message, and then following up with an order they still did not fill my tank. I called the office a third time and got put into voice mail three times. I finally called our driver and he went and filled it. He told me just to call him directly in the future.

The people at Star Tex were nice, but this certainly is not the best place to get 20lb tanks for use with a grill or other appliance. I was skeptical to begin with, since it appears they largely operate in residential and commercial propane contracts. But I like to shop local if I can. However, I wish they were transparent with their pricing online. I wouldn't have wasted their or my time if that was the case. I read on their website that purchasing a tank and having it refilled would be a cheaper alternative (up to 50% cheaper!) to exchanging Blue Rhino tanks from the grocery or home improvement store. This was not remotely the case. They wanted $80 for the tank upfront, and then $20 for the gas and future refills. You can pick up a Blue Rhino tank around town for $55-$60, and exchanges are $20. I'm not sure what the $40 upcharge from Star Tex is about. I was also told to be sure to use all of the propane before having it refilled, because they would not charge just for the amount dispersed, but for the entire tank regardless of how full it was to begin with. That made no sense to me. If you're looking for 20lb tanks, and you think this may be an option, save yourself the trouble and just grab a tank the next time you're at HEB or Walmart.
