Farmers Insurance - Vladimir Kostenko

My experience with Vlad started out with him coming to my home and providing me with a reasonable estimate for my stairs and upstairs hallway to have tile Lpv installed and the removal of the carpet. When I contacted Vlad to to hire him he indicated to me that my project was to small and he didn't have time for it that he was to busy. I told him why waste my time with a estimate than why not just tell me this in the first place so needless to say I was irritated. Then a couple of hours later I received a call from Vlad, he apologized was sorry stated he could fit me in as long as I could be somewhat flexible with my schedule. I had no problem accommodating him and about 3 weeks later after my husband and I found a flooring that matched fairly well he was able to have his cousin Demetrius start laying the flooring. Demetrius did an amazing job my hallway looks fabulous I am very pleased with his work. Vlad started work on my stairs, He also did a very nice job on them. There is a couple of things I think we had a miscommunication on but over all they do look much better than the carpet that was there. The problem I had with Vlad was at the very end when the job was 98% done!!! He asked for the remaining balance I still owed him. I reallyhesitated because he technically wasn't 100% done and I didn't want this baseboard and one piece into my Master bedroom to not get finished.I made him promise he would finish it.. *** His estimate included the removal of my baseboards and the reinstall and we had one baseboard that was broken during the removal process. We knew that that was always a possibility since it's made from MDF.. Many weeks went by and I didn't have any communication from Vlad, I would text him and get no response this basically went on for 3 months a couple of times He would say he had the board than not show up, he even told me to find the baseboard. So my husband did finally in September Vlad finished what had been started in June. I have spent quite a few months trying to decide if I should write this review. I like Vlad and Demetrius and felt they did a beautiful job on the work performed. However the very last little bit of finish work is what really upset me and how and why I can't give a 5 star rating or recommendation. It never should have taken 3 months too finish what took less than 20 minutes to complete. I could have understood had there been better communication by Vlad and if I didn't have to continually contact him to get this completed.

We had a terrible experience with Vladimir Kostenko(the only person of contact for Sila Contracting). There are sooo many things I dont know where to start: At the start he gave us an estimate of the square footage of the area we wanted to have vinyl installed by actually measuring the area, which afterwards we found out was off by about 150 square feet! He way over ordered the product( for about 900 square feet we had about 200 square feet leftover), He created a huge hole in our subfloor because he forgot to adjust his saw depth and wanted to leave it that way if we did not insist he fix it, he literally told my husband he is in his way if he went to check on him and see what he is doing, he did not ask which way we would like our hallway flooring to be installed (north/south or east/west) and after we told him we like it to be the other way, he left the project (he had only done half a bedroom) and took all his tools and called the next day and said he wont be coming back. We had paid him to order the products from lumber liquidators for us which was a terrible idea. He said he would give us a discount which was $0.20 off per square feet that was $3.40 (so it ended up $3.20 ), BUT now I am stuck with the leftover products from lumber liquidator that I cannot return because he bought with his credit card.Do NOT let him buy the product. Do it yourself so you are not stuck like me.Lumber Liquidators typically has dicounts on the website anyway. Not only did he leave the project midway, he still owes us 200$ on stair risers he said he ordered but never did and refuses to answer me or my husbands phone calls. He will charge a lot extra for every little thing and wanted all the money in advance. Do not recommend. Service: Install flooring

We hired Vlad to install the remaining flooring for our laundry room, kitchen/entryway, and primary bathroom. He also measured and installed baseboards and 1/4 rounds and moved appliances (stove, washer/dryer, toilet) safely from and back into the rooms. Knowing we were on a time crunch, he put in -so- much hard work in a short amount of time and was respectful and understanding of my detail-oriented requests.
