Hotel Carmel

The rooms are very small but that okay for the price. The room was clean , but old. The sad part at the hotel is that cant sleep well because there are bars and elevators and the traffic and you hear everything, so we needed earplugs to sleep a bit.

First of all, the location is excellent. However, there are no parking spaces; instead there is only an expensive valet service. The internet is extremely slow with a rate of only 0.2 Mbps, which is unacceptable. The room was dirty and was not cleaned properly despite requests. It is extremely noisy and loud. The room furnishings were reduced to the bare minimum and there wasn't even a minibar to be found. Although the hotel looks nice from the outside, the inside is very dated. The hallway doesn't appear to have been renovated in decades, and the room doors give the impression of having booked a night in a prison cell. The elevator is hardly usable because it is very slow and there are often waiting times of up to 5 minutes. The pictures on the internet belie the actual atmosphere of the hotel. The price-performance ratio is unreasonably high. I will not recommend this hotel under any circumstances.

This Hotel could be so much better. The hallways are seriously old and dank. The stairs are like a death trap being insanely steep and angled wrong. There is 1 ice machine off the lobby and the staff gets the ice for you. The male Valet parking guy kept disappearing and either him or the other male touched my gun I left in my car in ita holster hidden under the driver's seat. The female valet parking attendant was amazing, and the front desk person was very nice. For the money and fees, this hotel could have been better. The staff didn't sweep or mop our floors or refill the soap dispenser in the shower for 3 days straight.

Cozy and affordable spot. One block from the ocean and boardwalk, and surrounded by quality shopping and food. If youre looking for super upscale and modern, this wont be for you, but if you like old school charm and reasonable pricing, i cant recommend this hotel enough.
