Residence Inn by Marriott Chicago Southeast/Hammond, IN

The staff was amazing, especially the young man who checked me in. He was professional, personable, and most importantly relatable. He made me feel like I was home. The following morning, a kitchen staff member was kind enough to make a vegan sausage because I don't eat beef or pork. I spoke to the manager about her staff members, and I learned that the young man was an employee of a month a couple of times. The manager was approachable and respectable. The managers staff is a reflection of her proven leadership abilities. Thank you

My husband surprised me with a room here we had just gotten married and he wanted to do something nice since we didn't have a honeymoon and this was our last day in Indiana after visiting friends for their wedding. The view was amazing I wish we stayed longer than one night

In all Fairness, I gave the rooms 3 stars because they were renovating. My room, in particular, was not being renovated, but most of the hotel was. As far as comfort, the staff was amazing, the bed was comfortable, but the room above me was under construction, so all I heard was constant banging. The people across the hall were having a party and they were disruptive one night but otherwise I would recommend this hotel. There is a cracker barrel restaurant right next door ( you can walk there), the hotel offers breakfast every morning so you don't have to go out. There is a pool, laundry room, and small workout room available. I didn't take advantage of some of those amenities because I was only there temporarily. Overall, I would recommend a stay here.

Should be renamed Motel 6, Red Roof Inn, Knights Inn, or Econo Lodge but that would be a massive insult to the aforementioned brands as they at least typically give you what you expect. If you enjoy the smell of mildew, torn up cabinets, stained furniture, chairs that are falling apart, and the general feeling of oh god, I already paid for this so I guess Im screwed, this place is for you! Place is fit for an excavator. Marriott, shame on you!!
