Union Bank

Although manager Grace is very nice, other employees would not let me, a customer, use the bathroom last week. I found that quite upsetting as the employees' thinking was that they are cleaner and more sanitary regarding Covid. I don't buy that. I previously wrote: This Union Bank branch at 1101 Montana Ave. in Santa Monica, CA is SO NICE AND HELPFUL!!! Branch manager GRACE Y. SZABO is absolutely delightful, helpful, patient, conversational and understanding, and a female bank teller offered to bring a bowl of water for my dog which I greatly appreciated. This branch is an amazing, comforting oasis in stark contrast to the often cold, harsh, rude society I painfully encounter every day. THANK YOU, UNION BANK IN SANTA MONICA!

One star for an entitled employee who acts like she's the owner of the bank. My friend told me the story about how she was harassed by a Union Bank employee for just a space in the parking lot. She said some female with long bleached blonde (tint job non-white) woman came up to her car window harassing her about the parking spot she was in, and obviously, she desperately wanted. She proceeded to say the spot was reserved, yet only said "UNION bank parking only" , obviously for customers who bank at Union Bank. For sure my friends and I will find out what her position in the bank is and definitely report her to the highest high. With attitude like her in customer service is not what we need. It's is also apparent that this is not the first time she's done this. This particular woman needs to stay home and away from public's view. She exudes classless attitude, and not for customer service of any kind.

Union Bank is absolutely the worst bank, hands down. I've banked with them for over twenty years, and when my car was broken into and checks stolen from my car, the thieves called me and attempted to extort $3k from me. The police told me not to give them this money. I filed a police report, which they didn't make it easy to do. I alerted the bank, closed my acct and opened a new one, the bank was aware of this attempted extortion and break in to my car, and advised me to open the new acct. The old acct could not be draw on or deposited into, and would automatically close in 90 days. They continued to draw on the acct even under the circumstances and well beyond the 90 days. The acct never closed as I was informed, When the acct became overdrawn over $10k, they removed the funds from my new acct. So not only did my car get broken into and I was victimized by thugs BUT now they allowed the fraudulent checks to pass through my acct AND MADE ME RESPONSIBLE victimizing me again. I'm closing my acct and never bank with this bank NOR SHOULD YOU!!!

The whole staff is very friendly! Plus they care about their customers. Parking is very easy and the lines are never that long. Antonio, Bertha, Brian, Dylan, Gustavo and Jose all seem to get along great!
